I am writing this post to warn other people of the scammy practices of Musescore. After buying the score, I went through my profile specifically to make sure I wasn't subscribed to anything, which I wasn't at the moment. Despite that, I recently received a bill for their premium subscription. Luckily, I noticed it in time.

It is extremely disappointing that such company would be actively scamming people (no other way to call it). It used to be a way of cheap apps on Iphone. You can say any excuses, like "they gave you free subscription which you needed to cancel" or "you needed to read everything carefully before buying anything", the bottom line is that every one knows that this system/practice is INTENDED to steal from unsuspecting customers. While I liked using Musescore, I simply can't work with a company that is actively trying to scam me.

I would strongly recommend people not even get involved with it, or at least not giving them your card info, as practice show, they will steal even when you are careful.

If you know any alternatives to Musescore, please let me know! If there are none, someone should make one!

Hi all!

I was working on an assignment for my degree on musescore yesterday. I was having some issues with my file and realised my musescore wasn’t updated so i updated it to studio and continued working on it, saving and closing the document multiple times since then and reopening it with no issue working on it. I made multiple hours of progress.

All of a sudden this afternoon I opened it and it reverted to the version from when I first updated musescore?!?! Even though I opened it and worked on it just fine this morning after saving it last night; I know for a FACT i saved it.

This has been super distressing as I am overloaded with assignments and don’t have multiple hours to fix this. I luckily have a pdf with some of the progress on it that I sent to my lecturer that I can transcribe off of but I really don’t have time or energy to so do :,( any leads/ideas??

i'll be clear, i thought i already canceled. i remember even communicating with musescore support, and getting a refund because i had proof at the time that i did in fact cancel. i come back now to see that musescore wants 60$ from me, saying a transaction failed and that i am still subscribed.

first off. the amount they tried to charge my paypal does not match what they claim that i owe. and second, the cancel membership button just does not work. everytime i cancel, it tells me how many days left till its inactive, then the day arives and its back

I use MuseScore on my tablet. All the notes are hollow from 8th notes to quarter notes or 16th notes. All hollow. I updated to most recent version. I tried the support contact but they need a screenshot which I can take but not send on my tablet. Tried to take a screenshot on my laptop but everything is normal on there, it’s only the tablet that has this issue. It’s very hard to read this way, would appreciate any help thanks.

Hi, please excuse if this is a stupid noob question. I'm trying to use Musescore to rearrange a TTBB barbershop song for a SATB group, and want to generate learning tracks with Cantai. A chorus buddy told me if I write on the barbershop template in Musescore, it won't let me generate part-specific tracks. He advised writing four voices as four instruments on separate staves, generating the recordings, then "imploding" them to two staves to generate sheet music. Is this the right way to do it? It seems a little hard to visualize chords when the notes are spread out on separate staves.

When I export my sheet music in PNG format, the generated file is a full page, and I would like to export an image of only a few selected measures.

Currently, I take a screenshot and crop it, but it's a tedious process.

Is there any way to export just a selection?

- I'm still learning how to use Muse Score

- I'm almost completely blind, so it is possible that the solution is right there on my screen and I'm not seeing it.

When I'm composing, the violin sounds just fine, but when I publish it, the violin sounds a lot like a flute. This has been the case for the longest time with all solo violin pieces too. Why does this happens and why no one fixes it?

edit: just checked and the problem only happens on mobile.

I have a lead sheet with some triplets on them that shouldn't be there. Most are sung as 2 dotted sixteens and one normal sixteenth. Is there a way to to delete the triplet but leave the notes there (don't really care for the duration)?
Now when I delete the triplet I have to re-add the 3 notes and the lyrics.

Musescore 3 was quite easy to use for drumline music, but I’m struggling a lot with this new version.

I bought a piece of sheet music last week for less than $1, and now I just got a message saying I will be charged for a subscription? when the fk did I agree to that? worst of all I can't cancel because I'm being denied a refund??

Okay, and I knew about that feature from YouTubers telling me about Beta... I don't really care about exporting videos at the moment. What I really want is a score to picture system that doesn't use a third party VLC plug-in. I'd also like the ability to put time stamps on the score/sketch.

How do I make Musescore take into account multimeasure rests in playback mode? I'm using Musescore Studio 4.6.5
