Air hardening modeling clay cyanotype

Air hardening modeling clay cyanotype

Here's a glob of air hardening modeling clay treated and exposed. It's drying on the rack now. Should be dry in 24 hours or so. It could actually be formed into another shape right now, which opens a lot of interesting possibilities. We'll see then how well it holds the color if at all. This is NOT my design, I photographed a litho at a friend's.

On ceramic

I've had varied success with "bisquit" ceramic tiles, but I believe they would fade if exposed to sunlight. Ceramic is hard to get right, because the chemicals are absorbed into the tile. The time to expose, that is how long to let it dry, varies a lot.

Ain't Nature Grand!

Despite the fact that leaves, flowers and related objects are the easiest subjects, friends tell me they love them more than artistic creations.

Persistence pays - got Musescore refund

I don't understand why Musescore thought I should donate 10€ to them after cancelling my one year subscription. I had to waste time emailing them and submitting the issue to Paypal, but in the end, they paid. It's not the money, it's the principle. Irreputable companies shouldn't get away with hiding behind "it's our policy". If it is, it's against EU law and that may be why they finally paid me back.

Now you see me as I really am

I had my picture taken this morning.

This was on prepared paper, UV lamp for 10 minutes, hydrogen peroxide to darken it.

Incidentally, the precoated paper does require a strong jet of water on it, not just a bath, but it has a better white than most of the others I do with my own chemical mixture.

Cyanotype on Air Dry Clay

I'm experimenting with the air dry clay. The leaves image was exposed just a half hour or so after applying the mixture. The edges aren't sharp because the surface isn't flat and the sun may have moved. The image from a photo, the cyanotype solution was left to dry longer, so I think it was absorbed more. Air dry looks promising and it's not expensive.

I'm not the only one to have complaints about Musescore

I'm waiting for the Paypal complaint to be resolved. As of now, they've only reimbursed 3/4 of what I paid. The question is, WHY? By what right do they decide to keep some amount? It's not like there's a product to restock. I understand, you don't get a refund of you download material from the site, but I and others have not received any benefit. Most of us subscribed by mistake with their confusing offers of 90% off (yes, seriously). It's very confusing that there is the app, which people seem to love and the web sigte. It is the same company, but the web site has really put a stink on the Musescore brand name.

Still waiting for the 10€ they owe me

Musescore.com (not the app which I hear is nice) owes me a full refund, it's the law in the EU where we have 14 days to change out minds on a purchase when nothing material is used or received. I got absolutely nothing from Musescore, did not download anything, got no service at all. I asked for the full refund which is due and they sent 3/4 of it, 30€ of the 39.99€ paid.

It's unacceptable for companies to think they can make the law, the company is based in the EU and they are definitely not allowed to take a donation I didn't authorize. Beware of any subscription offers with them, they have shown themselves at dishonest.
