While I agree with much of the sentiment across this sub regarding certain tools not being as good as their Victorinox counterparts, the size/weight to functionality ratio is pretty awesome. I will say that the action isn’t as snappy as most of my Vics, but I’ll let it slide. I likely will grind down the tip of the file to accommodate light duty phillips screws, but other than that it’s pretty sweet.

Has anyone tried one of these hooks from SAKWorldCustom? If so, how is it?

As someone who uses the orange peeler tools when I have them, the Companion’s package opener is a pretty solid substitute.

Is it possible to tighten the joint on loose pliers through peening or some other method? I picked up an old user for parts, and the pliers have a lot of play at the joint.

I found this on Amazon and then went to the Eurotool site. Is this legit or what?

What thickness of washers for 91mm G10 liner builds? 0.1mm or 0.2mm? And does the middle pin get one? I searched and can’t find a definitive answer.

Ecoline Climber in the house

I snagged this off the Bay for a song, and after some much needed cleanup to remove rust and what seemed like a bucket of sand, it is in great working order. I really do enjoy these nylon scales.

My first mod: the obligatory Yeoman

I had to do it. The tool build itself came together quite nicely. However, I clearly didn’t use enough epoxy on the scales which has resulted in some gapping, so I’ll redo those. Either way, I’m pretty pleased and am eyeing a Yeoman Mechanic for my next build.

What’s your favorite 4-layer? I’m thoroughly enjoying the Explorer and Deluxe Tinker.

This LE Cadet from the 2012 Five Color Series was part of my daily carry for years. It always blows me away how much functionality they packed into such a tiny space.

This Ecoline Sportsman has been in my pocket since it arrived. I do miss scissors, but I let it slide due to how charming this little guy is and how easily it carries.

The mail was good today: Ecoline Sportsman and Deluxe Tinker

I got these both for killer deals on the Bay, and they’re both in great condition. This is my first experience with Ecoline scales, and they are pretty sweet and a nice change of pace. Also, the cam tang on the bottle opener is pretty cool too. The Deluxe Tinker will be getting some new scales soon enough though.

To mix things up a bit, I have really been enjoying pairing the Companion Slim with a small fixed blade.

Finally checked out a Compact and slapped some new scales on it.

The form factor and included functionality is great, but it very much is a compromise on tooling. Overall, I like it a lot, though, and understand the draw now.
