r/Godox Announcement: A collaboration!

Earlier this week I hinted at some upcoming sub news, and I’m glad to finally share it with you.

This sub’s strength is its its diverse membership, boasting Godox users from all over the world with all kinds of experiences to share. Occasionally we’ve benefited from individuals with a closer connection to the brand than us regular folk, and I’d like to recognise one such person.

Celine has been an active contributor to r/Godox discussions for a few years now as u/Yoguratcat, but actually represents Letwell, an authorized Godox distributor. Letwell operates Amazon stores across international marketplaces including the United States, Europe, and Australia. I was introduced to Celine through another r/Godox member while discussing ways the sub could be improved.

Today we’re introducing a community collaboration between r/Godox and Letwell that should aid product discussion, bolster the sharing of technical information, and open a new channel for user feedback.

Celine will continue to participate here as she has done previously, offering help and advice when able to, but now with the support and recognition of the sub. I think this will be especially valuable when new products are released, something Godox has been doing a lot recently.  And Celine has kindly offered to let us try something new: Letwell-supported hands-on community product testing from time to time. For transparency, when these occur they’ll clearly be labeled as sponsored by Letwell.

Please note that although they’re an authorised distributor, Letwell is not acting as an official customer service representative for all Godox products globally. Celine may occasionally point users toward useful information or feedback channels where appropriate, but you’ll continue to rely on the retailer or distributor you purchase your Godox gear from for things like order-specific support and warranty claims.

I’m excited for this collaboration, and hope you’ll find Celine’s presence here valuable.

🧹 r/Godox Spring Cleaning

Hey everyone,

Just a small announcement to tell you you might notice a few changes being made in r/Godox over the coming days and weeks as some things are updated and tweaked.

The posting flair categories will receive some attention to better categorise posts shared here and make it clearer how they should be used. The sub rules will receive a similar refresh, and there might be some cosmetic changes to the sub as well.

If you have any suggestions for any of these or other improvements you’d like to see then please feel free to comment below or send a mod mail.

Also, stay tuned for some additional sub news later this week that’s a bit more exciting than mere housekeeping and spring cleaning…

As shared by Bron in their April 2026 newsletter.

This is a short BTS/how-to on lighting a shot of a Sinar technical camera in the studio.

The photographer is lighting with a masked 120cm x 180cm masked softbox, a Picolite + projection attachment, an Octabox, and the lights being driven by Move 1200 L and Senso 2400 generators.

There's nothing particularly groundbreaking about the gear or techniques being used, but rather just applying the fundamentals of controlling light to highlight the subject details in a desired way.

I did these using two lights with scrims to give me gradient reflections. I clean up the obvious dust and other imperfections. One thing I’m wondering about is where the liquid moves around the glass and leaves residue. I try to get it wiped out really well before I push the button. Does have to be all removed? I feel like that’s the nature of real life and something that might not be in generated images.

Not sure where to post this to get the best response, but anyone ever seen this? Pack is leaking what seems to be oil from the bottom? Still shoots fine (obviously not actually using it). Anyone ever seen this??
