Thinking of new playthrough: No evolution mons or only 3-stage?

Played this game a million times, been trying to think of something different.

I had 2 ideas: a team of fully evolved Pokémon; or a team of only 3-stage evolutions. I would count things like Scyther, Jynx, and Magmar, since you can’t have their pre-evolutions/evolutions until post game. What sounds more interesting?

Julio’s Plate Approach

I know he’s still so young, and may always be a free swinging player, but do we think he’ll ever have the eye and plate discipline to double his walk rate? Right now he walks about 40 times a year…boosting that to 80 would really do wonders for his OBP, runs scored, and overall greatness.

For reference, Trout is taking about a walk per game (astonishing) and Julio is taking a walk about every 3 games. Just curious what the sub thinks. GOMS.

Edit: just to be clear, I love the kid. He’s on a HOF path regardless, and if he finishes his entire mariners contract there’s no way he isn’t a top 2-4 Mariner of all-time.
