Proposed Lidl

What do people think of the proposed Lidl store development? I personally think it is a good use for the site and will add to the range of shops in the town. With the amount of new houses being built in the Ringmer and Clay Hill areas we are going to need more supermarkets; after all, neither Tesco or Waitrose are the biggest stores.

The last application was rejected partly due to it not being a good 'gateway' into the town. I'm sure an empty garage is a much better welcome into our county town. Best not to mention the old Wenbans building by the bridge. As for the footpath across the site, I wasn't even aware of it and I'm unclear how you access it. Do you have to climb over the fence, or do you squeeze through the hedge by the old undertakers building?

Progress at the Lewes derailment rebuild

Went for a walk this morning to see how they are doing. Looks almost done, although I'm no expert.
