as a loss

at a loss*

Hello, when I was 14 i noticed thin white skin around my labia/ outside vagina and around my clit. It has small fissures in it and causes me a lot of pain. since i was a kid, i was always to scared to seek help thinking i had a disease or did something wrong and would be shamed. i was embarrassed. at 18 i finally went to a doctor, my primary care dr, and she told me she had no clue what it was and to “keep a eye on it” at 19 i went to a gyno and she told me she didn’t know what it was either and gave me clobetasol, it did help, but just came right back when i quit using it. At 20, i went to a new gyno, I mentioned my thoughts on LS and she told me “she’s seen patients with LS so this can’t be it” but i feel so unseen. I’m now 21, and finally got a referral to see a specialist monday. I just don’t know what else it could be.

It’s gotten worse over the years, i’ve tried everything and nothing makes it better. Sometimes it itches so bad i’ve ripped my skin ( before i had a cream to help). Does this sound like LS to you? Or do you think I was being dismissed? I’ve had so many nights crying and feeling alone, ashamed, and depressed because of this and i hope they can figure it out.
