Im gonna get right into the theory and save the gab for the comments. But this is HUGE if true.

we all know the name croz boyce by now, what a silly playful statement of whimsy and mystery. Indeed, the band has a long history of abstruse usage of language. It almost seems dadaist... but what if it's not? What if there is a deep anfd tangible reality that dave and brian are putting out - right in front of our noses.

Here's the breakdown of what i found out so far. consider Croz. Avey is a known crocodile enjoyer, so it is a solid conclusion that it is a nifty spin on croc (read, croc boy(ce)). what happened there? C <-> Z. of course, CZ is the element name of cubic zirconia. This will be important later on.

With this information in mind, i finally started to understand what was going on with boyce, since the clue is now clearly of elemental nature. when it comes to elements, the boys are no stranger (mercury man comes to mind). ah-ha, b= boron (5) o = oxygen (8) y = yttrium (39) c = carbon (6) and e = Einsteinium (99). Eisteinium is an interesting hereon, but is it red? only partly. It might not be exactly what we need, but it clues us in to how to decipher boyce. Everyone knows einstein, he is very popular. He's also considered a genius by many. Without a shadow of a doubt my intuition says this is supposed to be a mirror of the AC ethos: both underground and, while some claim them genius, humble to the point of denying those comparisons. Boron, Carbon, and Oxygen are some of the most plentiful elements on earth; any kid would have learned about them in chemistry class. which leaves us with Y.

Remember when I said CZ was important, dont you see now? C...Z...Y. OR rather CYZ. C as in cross, and you know what else is a cross is an X -- XYZ has arrived!! This may seem an odious omen, obviously one owns that. But look at all weve done so far, as in subverting the norms to the point of full inversion. so -- ENDLESS. furthermore, I was rather curious as to why exactly the boys made us swap C with X, since cross of course crosses out stuff (also pertinent to the inversion aspect of the theory) ... but X... X marks the spot.

An endless treasure hunt... have the boys one pieced us??

id love to hear what you think 🤔

Originally, I titled this post 'some images that are not in the archive', but I realized at the end that I contradicted myself. I still like the idea, so I'm leaving my scrawling thought below.

Bear with me, this might make no sense.

I got to thinking if there could be a constructed image, or a theoretical image that exists but could not, tautologically speaking, appear in the archive. Of course, I want to be clear that we must consider the limitations of the image files on Babel, so no tricks with resolutions or color spaces.

Initially, I considered images of numbers; as an example, there are infinitely many images on Babel that are white backgrounds with digits arranged in some order. This is easy enough to comprehend, for instance we could partition each 416x640 image into 3x2 blocks with Arabic numbers easily recognizable. This is obviously a finite list of 'numbers' (images), and so we can say that the number, n+1, does not appear in the library. However, we have unnecessarily constrained ourself by the blocks and digits. Thus, n+1 is actually observable in the archive, we just have to shift how we represent the numbers. And so we can push it to the extreme, and have each pixel represent a digit and use base 4096 (the number of colors possible in Babel). The list of numbers generated this way is also finite.

Remember, we need to consider the constraints, and so this finite list is actually the cardinality imposed on Babel by the technological constraints. This is where I contradict myself. But it's still interesting, I think that number is an actual hard definition of the number of images on the website.

Then I got to thinking, yet again, if this number, which I will call a babillion, is actually just a lower bound for the cardinality of the library. Of course it is! there are definitely notations that one could encode larger numbers within the image archive, as with titration or other googological notation abuses. I'm at the end of my lunch break though, so i'll leave it at that. What do you think?

edit: babillion is just 4096^(266240) . but now i'm convinced that's a lower bound, is there a finite number that is larger? i.e., could Rayo's number be represented in Babel? we can call the new theoretical limit a bababillion

So I'm upgrading my car's sound system on Friday, and I'm totally brimming with excitement. I'm making a big ol playlist of all the songs I want to blast. Of course AnCo, also some dub reggae which will be sick, War on Drugs for the guitar solos, Sophie, Darkside (Slau is going to be the first song I test on them), and charli xcx to name a feew.

I want to hear your suggestions to help beef up my playlist! Don't hold back on the genre or weirdness; the only requisite feature is it must BUMP.

EDIT: thank you all for the suggs, I appreciate your time truly :) here's the link if anyone is quoriouz

surviving a manic episode, 80 degrees outside. driving home from work, on a highway (pog). 20 miles to the next exit, 20 miles displayed on my car's range. windows rolled up to save fuel (aerodynamic), ac off to save fuel too, 95 degrees inside. body expanding from the heat, 7 hours of sleep in 4 days. monkey riches, volume cranked to the max. lately i wanna be in my heart 💜

The intuitive answer is that they are hanging out and drinking blueberry flavored soda, i.e. 'blueberry pop' ... then something just doesn't sit right. Pop is a mid-west piece of jargon, with most geo-etymology (punny) analysis extending the usage range of 'pop' from the pacific northwest to Ohio (generally above the mason dixon line, but that doesn't matter here). However, we all know the homies are from Baltimore, a heavily soda-pilled region. Why would they be referring to the carbonated beverage in this way, isn't it strange that Dave and Brian would put on false airs as to their diction and dialect? Have you ever even seen a blueberry soda, isn't that strange? Something else doesn't gel with this interpretation, namely that they are somehow 'with' the pop. Would one be 'with' a dinner? or using it for some purpose as in 'he rowed WITH the paddle'? no, i think not... One is generally 'with' someone or something, but a specific something. A something that is permanent, that sticks around, has use and sentimental value... not simply a beverage that is to be downed and never seen again.

So I got to thinking... what could the blueberry pop signify, what could it represent artistically??? I'm not convinced totally that the pop in the title could be a verb. While they do have a history of smashing up strawberries, I think that is a Noah thing, something he does on long plane rides. So that was a dead end. Then I realized, ah-ha, there IS no metaphor! it is literally a blueberry ... pop! Their blueberry faaaaather! Indeed, the nostalgia in the song is palpable, surely reminiscing of a time wherein pop was going full on blueberry mode. Was he eating them voraciously, picking bales full for a pie, or simply dressing up like a blueberry for a costume party? Who knows ~ only Croz Boyce.

My personal theory (for, to this point there has been no theorizing; simply logical deductions) is that his dad was getting ready in a hasty frenzy one morning and without thinking the man wore a completely blue outfit with a funny blueberryesque cap on. They were certainly clowning on him for that one, ooh blueberry pop!

It's not exactly intuitive to choose optimally. Plus some interesting statistics and game theory is directly related to the underlying concept. Did monty actually have some experience studying math, or did he adapt an already existing mathematical idea?
