PS4 Pro repaired at 3rd party due to power issue. Now, the power port is different and my original cable won't fit. Did I get scammed?
I own a PS4 Pro bought in India.
I was facing an issue had it repaired at a third party. The issue was the device wasnt turning on. No blue light, nothing. Just dead. He said he needed to order a part and quoted quite a high price. I didn't ask too many details because I had a good experience with him last time, so there was a little trust.
First red flag - He kept the device for almost 3 weeks saying the part delivery is getting delayed.
Second red flag - When asked he said he needed to change something related to display when my issue was power related.
Third and major red flag - The power port is different now, and my original cable doesn't fit anymore.
I know the whole thing reeks of a scam. But I'm willing to give him a benefit of doubt because the place is quite old and reputable in my city.
My question is, did he just replace the power port and scam me for a high price? I'm genuinely scared to go back to him now even for the power port because if he really is scamming me, he might just say some more bullshit and charge me more.
