I am wondering if it is worth buying a PS4 Pro. I have never owned a playstation, I have an Xbox One X and have always owned Xboxes since I was a kid. In my case, I am just getting out of college and am looking for something to do in my free time. I am mainly just looking to play some PS exclusives like Spider-Man, God of War, The Last of Us, etc. I feel as though the newer games aren't as enticing to me, and I am really just looking to enjoy some good titles from my high school years. I don't plan to spend more than $150 on the console itself, which is why I was looking at the Pro. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

Hello everyone. Genuine inquiry from you all. I am 0lanning on upgrading my setup and would like some help with deciding in the direction I want to take it.

Basically, my current setup is pretty elementary. An i7 6th Gen laptop for my study and online work. A ps4 base model for gaming with a less than mediocre EchoStar "1080p 60hz" led. I have saved up some money, around 350k so I was thinking what should I upgrade. I can either build a pc in that budget ( I already have a gpu rx6600) or I can leave pc for later and buy a ps5 pro for gaming upgrade. Will upgrade monitor as well.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I could really use some advice. One of the four individual wires on the cable that runs from my PSU to the motherboard got damaged.

The specific cable is a 300ER 4-pin. I’ve been looking everywhere for a replacement, but I literally cannot find a single seller that stocks it.

Since buying a direct replacement seems to be out of the question right now, I have a few questions:

1. Does anyone know of any specialty stores or websites that might actually sell this?
2. Are there any compatible alternatives that would work safely?

Any help or pointers would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, I have a CUH-7100 PS4 Pro and was wondering if that thing where you place a tiny heatsink or stack thermal pads on top of the HDMI chip helps lower the syscon fan speeds?

From what im seeing on the PS4, syscon fan speeds are determined by the Temps of the APU and the HDMI chip.

My PS4 Pro is on FW 9.00 so im able to monitor temps, altough its a ⁉️ on detemining improvement because unlike PS3 you cant see the fan speed its running on... How are you supposed to notice a difference? (And why cant we see the fan speed in %?)

I repasted the APU with MX-4 half a year ago and removed any Dust on the heatsink, ventholes etc.

Like what temps are normal for the ps4 pro? Is the pro itself hot or what I dont undersrand. Did anyone try out that HDMI chip mod? Can you recommend it

After a good cleaning there is absolutely no sound coming from my console.

Tomorrow I will make a video with it working.

Only have Tekken 7, FC26 to test.

I wish i had Red Dead Redemption 2, people saying it makes the fan run full speed.

I had to get a new drive because my hard drive was going out, I ended up snagging a 1tb ssd new for $56 which was crazy. I got everything initialized and got my PS4 set back up to how it was with the old drive, got everything moved over and was downloading my games in rest mode. This morning my deranged mother decided to yank the electrical socket out of the wall because the top was slightly pulling away from the wall so I had to rush to turn the power off before she offed herself. I completely forgot that my PS4 was in rest mode and now my PS4 cannot access system storage. I can't boot into safe mode, it won't do anything. Is there any chance I'm just having a crap day and there's a way to fix it or do I just have to blow 200 on another 1tb ssd?

Ps4 pro CUH-7208B Fan noise

I have a PS4 Pro CUH-7208B model.

Before using the Lapy/PS4 temperature app, my console was NOT making loud fan noise even around 81–82°C. It stayed relatively quiet.

But after opening and using the temperature app, I noticed the app showed a max fan threshold of 79°C. Since then, my PS4 Pro starts getting loud much earlier, around 79°C, even after I deleted the app and restarted/shut down the console.

Did the app permanently change the fan curve or temperature threshold somehow? Or am I just overthinking this?

Has anybody else experienced this with a 7200 series PS4 Pro?

i purchased an almost functioning ps4 pro off my brother for $50. which itself is a steal but the catch is the bluray drive doesnt work. upon closer inspection the motor doesnt spin to read discs. the software did update as it was a couple versions behind so theres no fuses blown however i replaced the drive and the new drive is doing the same thing. is it coincidence or is there an issue with my ps4 pros motherboard i should be concerned about?
