Camping Adventures, Dowdle, 300

One of my favorite ways to puzzle is with a group and on vacation by a lake! It’s just so calming. I brought this one on a recent trip and it was quick and easy, but still satisfying. I like Dowdle’s big pieces, although not too much a fan of the art. This one seemed apt for the scenery though!

Summer Abundance, New York Puzzle Company, 500pc

I’ve always admired Loré Pemberton’s art in NYPC puzzles so I’m glad I took this one to a lake house outing! We did this puzzle together and it was more challenging than expected. The shapes are all quirky. Love the texture on the pieces. Nice to find that it was a square and it didn’t have any borders or The New Yorker logo (like the magazine covers).

The Gloam Cafe, Momibook, 1000pc

So super cute! Pieces fit well, no false fits, good thick feel. A little too shiny for my preference but not a deal breaker. The back has marks on them so you can sort into two piles (one for the top part of the puzzle and the bottom), which I did. It was still a bit difficult in some spots! But tackling 500 at a time felt more doable. I do like this brand and their designs!

Costco, Dowdle, 500pc

Did this one with friends on a puzzle night! Unanimously chosen since everyone was a Costco fan. It’s as hard as it looks but also fun to do together. Also nice spotting the funny details.

Wanderlust, Ravensburger, 1000pc

This was my first of this kind of Ravensburger puzzle where they show almost two different scenes: one is inside and the other is the view outside. It made it much easier! The colors were very vibrant and there were so many details so it lessened mt anxiety for sure. I haven’t done a 1000pc puzzle in a while so this was a nice and relaxing entry back. Did this with my son.

Circle of Colors - Mushrooms, Ravensburger, 500

My first Circle of Colors and it didn’t disappoint! I enjoyed the gradient (also my first time) and the pieces fit well. Passed the lift test for the most part. Lovely and enjoyable. I’m still partial to square and rectangle puzzles but I’ll keep picking these up if I see a good deal!

Also used my new puzzle board (a wooden one from All4Jig which has drawers and a lazy susan) and it’s a game changer! So much easier to sift through pieces (the drawers are wide enough) and it’s not as bulky as I initially feared it would be. It makes it more fun to do collaborative puzzling.

[Theme] Earthy Dreamer, Lantern Press, 140pc

A snack puzzle! I like these mini puzzles; I’ve always imagined myself doing puzzles on travel but so far I haven’t. I’m glad I did this one. It was challenging enough because of the irregular border, but other than that the shapes were in and out. I don’t do well with colors and patterns like this design, so the small piece count definitely lessened my anxiety.

Fits the theme because the title mentions “earth” and the image is mushrooms and plants.

Banana Split, Aimee Stewart, Buffalo, 300pc

Fun puzzle! I like food puzzles and smaller piece counts so this was perfect. Buffalo had good quality pieces, no false fits, thick and bright colors.

Food Trucks: Pips Pizza Truck, Ceaco, 500, artist Stephanie Peterson Jones

These food truck puzzles are always fun and relaxing to do! I wish Ceaco pieces fit more snugly and can be lifted, at least in small sections. They just fall apart if I so much as breathe in their direction. 😁

My second Wentworth (both thrifted and complete!). Always such a lovely a d satisfyingly luxe experience doing a wooden puzzle. This one came together nicely, with big pieces that were easy to handle. Lots of fun custom shapes, too.
