noise pollution in TN poitics.

Is it just me, or has there been a lot more noise in Tamil Nadu politics lately?

It feels like major developments, governance decisions, and the issues people are actually facing are getting buried under constant political chatter. Suddenly, everyone seems to have an opinion on every single move of the government, and the real issues are being overshadowed.

"Arasiyale pesaadhavanga ippo arasiyal pesa aarambichittaanga." Idhu dhaan ippo social media-la unfiltered opinions niraya varradhukku oru mukkiya reason-nu thonudhu.

will CORDELIA survive in Indian market above IPO price.

I'm trying to understand the investment thesis behind Cordelia Cruises after its IPO.

It listed around 15–19% below the IPO price on Day 1, but on the very next day it hit the upper circuit.

I have a few questions:

  1. What caused such a sharp reversal in sentiment within a day?
  2. Is this just short-term momentum and short covering, or are institutional investors accumulating the stock?
  3. Even after the listing correction, do you think the company is still trading at an expensive valuation based on its current earnings?
  4. Since Cordelia is currently the dominant player in India's domestic cruise industry, does it deserve a valuation premium because of its first-mover advantage?
  5. The Indian government has been talking about expanding cruise tourism by 2029 through port infrastructure and tourism initiatives. How much of this future growth is already priced into the stock?
  6. Do you see this as a good long-term (5–10 year) investment, or is the current optimism getting ahead of fundamentals?

I'd especially appreciate insights from anyone who has read the DRHP or analyzed the company's financials rather than just looking at the listing gains/losses.

corruption isn't only due to corrupt officers, but also due to FOMO citizens and lack of transparency in tracking process.

Corruption isn't sustained only by corrupt officials. It is also fueled by citizens' fear of being left behind and by the lack of transparency in government processes.

A significant part of the broker ecosystem in government offices exists because people don't know the exact procedure, required documents, official fees, expected processing time, or the current status of their application. This information gap creates anxiety, making citizens believe they need a broker to get things done or to prevent their application from being delayed.

What if every government service had a dedicated FAQ page and short explainer videos in regional languages covering:

  • Step-by-step application procedures
  • Required documents
  • Official fees
  • Expected processing timelines for each stage
  • Common reasons for delays or rejection
  • How and when to escalate if the timeline is exceeded

Along with this, a simple application tracker showing which stage the file is in and which office is currently handling it would provide much-needed transparency.

This would help citizens plan better, reduce unnecessary visits to government offices, decrease panic about delays, and significantly reduce dependence on brokers whose biggest advantage is access to information. It would also free up government staff from answering repetitive queries and improve public trust in the system.

This won't eliminate corruption entirely, but reducing information asymmetry and increasing transparency would remove one of the biggest drivers of everyday petty corruption.
