I think Sony and Microsoft are moving toward an all-digital future, and banning physical media will bring about a new age of piracy in gaming. Custom firmware and many new methods for both consoles and PC are about to be unleashed in the near future. People are going to take back the right to truly own the things they buy. If the mega-corporations don't give us that right, many talented activists are about to be activated. Piracy could be entering a new golden age and it may have already started.
