Possible Aragorn gamerule ?
TDLR : idea for a new gamerule allowing the Return of the King event to fire earlier.
So I really like to play as Aragorn, chilling in the North a little bit, or sometimes adventuring, while waiting for the Gondorian event to fire. I usually put Sauron to the first difficulty tier beyond normal (I think that it is Great and Terrible ? ) to have a little challenge. The other one are too hard for me.
The problem is that on these difficulty levels, with the defensive AI being what is it, Sauron usually rolls on Gondor in two wars. The first is usually a kingdom holy war for Ithilien, then Sauron take the decision to invades Anorien and in 15 years, even sometimes less, Gondor has lost his capital and you have to save the day as Aragorn.
I dont mind the libération wars, in fact they are very cool, but the fact that you have to manually regive all the Anorien and Ithilien titles to your vassal is very tedious. And, its somewhat sentimental, but the idea of the White City falling to the Ennemy really saddens me, and it gives me the sentiment that Aragorn, even if achieves to defeat Sauron, has failed to protect his people.
I think that a simple gamerule that allows the "Return of the King" event to fire lets say 5 or 10 years before 3019 yould resolve this pacing problem and allows the players to chose between a "save gondor" campaign or a "rebuild Gondor" one.
Of course i'm only suggesting it because of my own experience with the mod, so feel free to explain if you thinks that this is not a problem in your games.
