I'm sorry what?

I'm sorry what?

I'm playing a casual game in the Blue Mountains and this almost double-aged Durin wannabe has just arrived in my realm. I'm just curious, what caused this? Like, did this thing happen to anyone else, or did I just find a new dwarf father? :D

Is there a way to edit a lore main character and still get the events?

I have been trying to find a way to edit Saruman and make him a chick, and also want to change his name to “Sarumama”. However when I click on the Isengard portrait and click make new ruler, I am not getting Saruman’s events kicked up. Is there a way to make my character edits and keep getting the events?

My Frodo really did go on an adventure

I started as Bilbo and converted to the Wandering Ways faith. Then I switched characters to Bilbo's liege, imprisoned Bilbo, and had him executed (yes, very un-hobbit-like). Afterwards, I switched to a 36-year-old Frodo, who traveled the world before returning home to take control of the Shire. My Frodo actually went on an adventure!

Colonizing as an adventurer?

How do you colonize wildernesses as an adventurer? I have a Settler Train with 200 Settlers and I'm currently camped out in a wilderness area but it keeps saying that I can't colonize it?

Big empire war issues

I was surprised that when your empire is really big your neighbors can directly attack your vassals.

Fucking Thranduil non-stop attacks my vassals of Grey Mountains and Iron hills. I play for Thorin of We Erebor.

How can I prevent it without burning Thrandul's realm and creating powerful vassals?

I had same problem in Aragorn's compaign. Sauron and Witch king non-stop attacked Ithilen pushing me from decision to destroy Mordor.

Are there any submods of solving this problem?

Dunedain?

So this is just a simple question but what's the most powerful/unique dunedain culture? And what's your guys favorite?

I've always liked playing as arnorian but having to have the title of arnor sucks if you want to support aragon.

Numeorean is also cool but not having unique heavy cavalry kinda sucks

Is lord of the rings, lord of the earth possible yet?

I've tried multiple times but every time the host spawns before I get there, on this last run i think i figured out the host spawning probably had something to do with the hope mechanic so i left the southern elves alone for last but i didn't even make it to just them (even if i was close (the equivalent of 12 kingdoms left)) and since there is no way to actually win against the host (i don't think) is this achievement possible before the ring is added and you can actually fight against Eönwë?

How does the transition from Long Winter startdate to the War of the Ring work in terms of content and mechanics? Are these added at a specific date or coming in parts/fully etc.?

I want to start a long and slow run starting at LW, but i am wondering if later special buildings (e.g. Arminalethor not beeing available for LW), characters (e.g. the Fellowship ones) and stuff like Sauron becoming the lord of Mordor are implemented at some point. Can somebody help me out? Thanks

Playing "evil men" Rhuduar and Angmar

With obstacles being elves, the dunadain and dwarves, how would one best approach facing their armies? Would it be better to bring in the men of mordor and black numenoreans into the area by adventuring? Perhaps marrying them in hybridizing. Or is better to just use the hillmen there and branch out slowing integrating the orcs in the area? Has anyone done this sorta playthrough? I just don't feel the hillmen alone can do well against the good factions at all. Like one would have to somehow incorporate a blended army of men, orcs and trolls just to make a big impact enough to get passed the factions in the area. Solely men would be too difficult MAAs wise. Does anyone have advice on this?

At what point...is it too much toughness.

Wanted to see what would happen if I put morgul wights on a mithril node...its kinda ridiculous because it's not all the way upgraded. Did it as Balin and I did use cheat engine to do this. Just wanted to see what would happen stat wise.

Is it possible to invade Valinor?

I know that Eönwë and the Host of Valinor invading Middle-Earth is something of and end game threat for evil characters, but can you do the reverse? Like Ar-Pharazôn but potentially actually successful? I just think it would be very fun to sail to Aman and see it burn.

What is the argument for being an evil character?

So currently in this mod, the "good" characters seem significantly better by almost all metrics:

  • A multitude of positive opinion modifiers
  • Better Tech
  • Better Troops
  • Longer Lifespans(Numenoreans/Elves/Dwarves)
  • Primogeniture
  • Sailing

Compare that to most evil characters:

  • Everybody hates you
  • Your troops suck
  • You're either far behind in tech, or "ahead" in tech but can't develop your counties tech(Sauron/Saruman/Nazgul).
  • Partition Sucession, which destroys the ability of Rhun/Khand/Harad to be successful over any longer game period.
  • Constant peasant revolts if you ever expand.
  • Can't sail to the Meneltarma

Excluding for challenge purposes, why would you ever choose to be an evil character? Even the ones that avoid most of the downsides, like Umbar, are better if they go Good.

I dont even think you need any more men at arms at this point. By far my favorite unit ingame. Really cant wait to try spiders. I just saw them

What's the worst that can happen?

Defeated the Sorcerer of Dol Guldor, and this charming fellow ending up in my court a century later. I know his name is the deceiver and all but just look at that ability score.

Challenge Run Ideas

I'm looking for ideas for new challenge runs! I recently did Númenor-in-Exile in Gimilkhâd's Lifetime, which was a lot of fun. I briefly thought about forming the Mountains Hegemony with Balin within his lifetime, but I don't like the RNG aspect of his opening event & killing the Balrog.

  • Rags to riches-esque. Not a wealthy or particularly good character.
  • Within a certain timeframe.
  • Flames of Udun +/- Flame Imperishable.
  • Ideally something with long gameplay potential with lots of points of failure, like forming a hegemony.

Arnor and blood

I colonized the most part of Arnor and trying to maintain high Numenorean blood in all of my realm. I saw that some of my vassals marry Hobbits i mean what the hell. Before that i integrated shire by decision. So once i saw it i took all lands from hobbits and changed culture to my own. Will it kill something in game mechanics?
