Is this a cockroach or something else?

Found this in NYC, Queens, and I saw it run on my table, so I killed it without hesitating. When I looked online, it looked like a German cockroach, but im not sure. I never really had any roach issues in my house, just occasionally clicking beetles.

Does putting a thumb drive into a previously infected computer infect the drive

Recently I had trojan on my laptop and I cleared it with malware byte . As for now I changed my password on everything on a non infected device tho on the infected device I have some pictures of my grandad I want to keep before resetting/nuking the whole system. What should I do
