Framework 16 throttling when playing high load games, probably not heat related, possibly power related?

Hey everyone, I’m at my wits’ end at this point and really need to know if anyone knows what’s going on before I contact Framework support (because support sometimes takes a while).

Basically, every few minutes my Framework 16 will begin throttling incredibly hard - the frame rate drops, inputs lag, sound gets messed up. This only happens while playing Monster Hunter Wilds (and occasionally Stellaris), and this is not an issue I’ve had in the past, it used to run perfectly fine. I don’t think it’s thermal throttling because this sometimes happens when the CPU temperature is as low as 80 degrees, but I do have a few possible clues as to what’s happening:

  1. On two occasions, the throttling was temporarily fixed (for a few hours) by plugging the power cord into the back left port of the laptop instead of the back right. This no longer works.
  2. When it’s plugged into the back left port and the throttling starts, unplugging the charging cable and plugging it back into the left will not work - the charging light doesn’t come on and the computer doesn’t start charging. This issue persists for a while after the throttling ends.
  3. I’ve heard of a possible bug with Framework laptops where the charger will stop working if the battery starts draining and instead the computer will throttle really hard, is that a possibility for what’s happening? If so, does anyone know any potential fixes for that problem?

I really hope somebody knows what to do here, because like I said I’m kind of at my wits’ end.

Need help with a bug(?) that’s making me extremely frustrated and the game nigh unplayable.

So basically the game will run perfectly fine, except that every few minutes the frame rate will drop to less than 1 frame per second, the audio will begin getting wonky as well, and the entire game slows to a crawl (monsters included). If I’ve joined someone else I lose connection during this time. This usually lasts maybe 20-to-30-ish seconds, a minute at most, I haven’t been counting exactly. But it makes it nearly impossible to do anything.

My entire computer slows to this speed by the way, it’s not just Wilds. Tabbing out is equally laggy.

I updated my drivers (Framework 16 with the AMD 7000-something series graphics card), uninstalled all mods and REFramework, and still the issue persists. I’m kind of at my wits’ end here. The game did recompile shaders, so I don’t think it’s that either. So I really don’t know what I’m supposed to do at this point.
