First time fully painting a kit and first time shooting plamo. I had a blast through the whole process. Hope y'all enjoy!
Bought a HG Banshee on a whim and decided to try doing a full repaint for the first time. I wasn't super impressed with the out-of-box psycho frame and while I know it's color accurate, I wasn't a fan of the navy blue either. Idk if you're gonna call it "The Black Unicorn" by god it's gotta be black, right?
Made tons and tons of mistakes but I think I'm hooked. Learned a lot too (like buy a damn airbrush lol).
I've seen quite a bit of discussion around the yushanfang Sazabi kit, and since I seem to be one of the few that's actually picked this thing up and built it, I figured I'd share my experience!
I just finished this (aside from top coat, been too humid) a couple days ago and honestly thought it was a great kit. I think it looks fantastic and poses quite well especially considering how bulky it is. A lot of things, actually, almost everything, is an excruciatingly tight fit. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you're forcing a part where it's not supposed to go or not. But, take it slow and you'll be fine. The joints are also really tight, but as you move it around a bit they loosen up to a pretty good sweet spot.
Only had to make 1 mod to a part to fit it correctly. I think it was in the forearms? They extruded some supports on a large peg too far and you just have to trim those down.
The foil stickers were OK and I ended up using metallic marks to paint where those go. However, unlike the RG, this kit includes waterslides for the decals. Surprisingly high-quality too.
Again, I think it's a great kit. There's for sure better stuff out there, but if you're like me and 1/144 is too small for your giant hands, definitely keep an eye out for these. Even though I just picked up an actual RG Hi-Nu I'll be picking up the upscale "Sea Salt Cakes" when that releases.
I mean if I understand the sign right, "always" should mean "*always*", right? Anyway, was very happy to find the Hi-Nu, it was the only one there. Picked up both of these for ~$100 not including tax.
