Hail in Carp
There's a crazy little storm cell dumping small hail and torrential rain on Carp at the moment, heading towards Kanata!

We have some friends visiting Ottawa who are from Europe. They want to go out for dinner with us and have "Canadian food". I've lived here all my life, but other than poutine & beaver tails I can't think of what I'd consider Canadian food.
So, I'm looking for suggestions, ideally in the downtown core/Market area. Hintonburg area is fine as well.

My wife & I went to Bluesfest last night to see Angine do Poitrine (OK, I was more interested than my wife was 😂), Sheryl Crow and Ella Langley, along with 40,000 of our closest strangers.
We took OC Transpo to get there, with Pimisi station a short walk from the venue. When the shows were over, it took less than 30 minutes to get from about 100 feet from the stage to seated on a train.
Compare that to walking from the CTC to your car and the waiting to get out of the parking lot and being truly out of the traffic so you can get home. And that's with only 18,000 people!
Even though I live 10 minutes from the CTC, I'm looking forward to the day that the Sens play downtown.
Anyone else? We’re on Salisbury Street.
I took these today (July 2nd) after yesterday's record rainfall. The Carp River was indeed mighty, and probably even navigable over by the Canadian Tire Centre. ;)
