Actually wall off your city?

Do you guys actually build walls around your city? I’m always at a desperate need for both wood and free labor and never feel the investment is actually worth it (unless you do cheesy things with the raiders).

Like even it I take casualties during a battle once you have your city up and running with pops maturing to adults at a steady stream losses are pretty easily replaced without harming real growth. Even on Vanguard difficulty.

Visiting Ithaca During Move-In Week (Not Students)

My girlfriend and I are planning our August road trip and are debating how to make visiting Ithaca work. We initially indent to stay in or closely around Ithaca from August 20-23rd. Our reason for wanting to visit Ithaca in the first place is to visit the various nature activities, the farmer's market and local museums/city activities.

What is some advice for trying to make this work if it's worth it? Is this weekend just a zoo or can you pretty comfortable dodge the students by staying away from campus. Thanks!

Bring Back Protected Bike Lanes on L st NW

We really need to bring back the protected bike lanes on L st NW. Up until a few months ago, the bike lane was great. It had concrete barriers and reflective plastic sticks marking the lines. They were removed over the winter while bike traffic was low and now the lanes are filled with cars and trucks using the lane as a parking lot! It has become really dangerous and forces us bikers into the main road with cars to get around them. It was so bad today that the bike lane was effectively unusable between several blocks.

The entire point of the bike lane is to ensure bikers can be protected from drivers. This city has some of the highest biker fatality rates because of how terrible the commuters here are. Every day I see dozens of people texting and driving on any given bike trip. Bikers have a right to safety and not have the few bike lanes used as truck loading bays or uber pickup spots!
