I'm only posting because we mentioned it in another conversation that I don't remember. The Egyptian koshary is a pound and a half. I am looking for helpers.

Mid pandemic when I was in Ithaca I found a place that made blackberry ricotta pizza, we were only passing through at the time so I didn’t think much of it, but anyone know what restaurant that was? I think it was nearer the Lansing side of town but from all my sleuthing have had no luck finding it again
Thanks for humoring this weird memory, and if you don’t know where I’m talking about what’s the strangest topping combo you’ve ever seen or tried on a pizza?
We are gutting our kitchen and a bathroom and the amount of debris piling up is getting out of control fast. I cannot tell if I should just rent a dumpster and fill it over the project, or have a junk service come haul loads as we go. We are in the Ithaca area. For anyone who has done a bigger reno, what made more sense for you, and is there a local company you would actually recommend for either option? Trying not to let trash take over the driveway.
Hey Yall, I’m looking for a friendly house cleaner for my parents who live out in Lansing.
Any tips are much appreciated!!
hey all, my partner (f) is looking for some economically priced haircut options in or around town. not looking for Supercuts or something of that quality, but nothing crazy over the top either.
thank you for your attention in this matter 🙃
Hi,
we’re four guys, and we’ve put together Westminster’s restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Famille vs. Kachina Southwestern Grill), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.
Here’s the iPhone version, with categories that actually fit Westminster’s food scene:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota-restaurant-ratings/id6744969212
And here’s the Android version (finally live):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app
P.S. I’m not from Westminster (I live in Gothenburg). I’m not collecting data, not selling anything, and the app does not use AI-generated content. I’m posting in a few different subreddits because we now support more regions, and I genuinely want honest feedback from people who actually know the area.
A friend got a ticket recently that they want to dispute. Does anyone know any good traffic lawyers in the area?
Hey there reddit! I'm here waiting for my car from koskinence. I came back for it around 9:00 from the gay house and I parked it around 7:00 p.m. at the Ithaca hotel parking lot, where the sign said the parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays.
There was nowhere to call when I did not find my car. After finally finding out what number to call, the person told me where it was did not tell me what to pay and basically told me to ask myself. The 911 person told me similarly even though I called him five times. So I resolved to talk with the people at the police station and there was nobody there. The cars were on the lights were on on the police cars and there was no one there. There was no one in the police station either.
I'm currently waiting with a police officer in front of me while the other one is trying to resolve this madness. Please keep in mind this July 4th, there's no one around, and there's a sign that says I can park there. I Am timing their answers. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Does anyone know of a good seamstress/tailor in the area? I need to make some pretty significant adjustments to my wedding dress and get a bustle, so looking for someone with experience with that. Willing to drive an hour or two outside Ithaca
Thankfully the City is making some improvements in Cass Park adjacent to the Waterfront Trail. 2 new bathroom buildings are there, on the larger one near the ball field found 4 unisex restrooms, all locked and the doors have numerical keypads installed. Perhaps it's because they're new and not open yet or maybe they won't be open for public use? Does anyone know? It sure was a cause of frustration in a time of need....
My dad passed earlier this year and the family is finally ready to clear out his house so we can sell it. The problem is it is decades of stuff, furniture, an old fridge, boxes in the basement, the works, and none of us live close enough to haul it ourselves. Has anyone around the Southern Tier dealt with a full estate cleanout like this? Looking for someone respectful and reasonably priced who can just take care of it. Could really use the recommendation.
Thank you so much to Inn at Taughanic for bringing so much joy and 250 spirit to Ithaca 🇺🇸🎆
For those of you who work from home and live alone, and don’t have pets, how do you manage loneliness? Living here in a small town without having passive socialization in the day is driving me a little stir crazy (especially in the winter months). Any ideas/tips would be much appreciated!
i am staying in ithaca from july 7th to the 13th. are there any cool clubs, parties, or events during this time?
i am mainly looking for lgbtq+ spaces with drag, music, etc but open to any type of thing :)
Hey!
I’m looking for an art supplies store that sells professional grade materials (also that isn’t Michael’s). I’ve shockingly had the best luck at the on campus Cornell Store office supplies section but haven’t found anywhere else. Hoping to be within about an hour of Ithaca! Thanks!
Adult trying to get back in to sports, is anyone aware of a group that does casual pickup games? Baseball, football, soccer, basketball, etc.
I’ve looked on Facebook and the only thing I can find is either serious tournament type stuff, or youth leagues.
I’m fine driving out, so probably anything within an hour is fair game.
That is all.
Hey everyone! Thanks for the awesome feedback on last week's inaugural master list. I've run the raw data through my local tracking engine for this upcoming holiday weekend, filtered out the automated clutter (no, we don't need 4:00 AM virtual housing fairs), and cross-referenced the times with venue schedules.
This is an absolute blockbuster weekend in the area. Since Independence Day falls on Saturday, we've got a massive Friday night fireworks party on the lake, the return of First Friday Gallery Night downtown, and packed summer winery lineups.
Note: The community correctly noted last week that the Trumansburg Farmers Market runs on Wednesdays, so I have completely scrubbed it from this weekend's guide and will hold it for the mid-week update.
Independence Day Party, BBQ & Fireworks | Fri, 5:30 PM – 10:30 PM @ Inn at Taughannock Falls
The regional fireworks show over Cayuga Lake happens Friday night this year. Live music by Noon Fifteen and City Limits leads into the 20-minute fireworks display starting around 10:00 PM. ($75 for adults, kids half price. Pro-tip: If you don't have a ticket, you can view the fireworks for free from Taughannock Falls State Park, but arrive early for parking).

What are your long weekend plans, Ithaca? If you know of any other local fire department cookouts, neighborhood parades, or backyard concerts happening for the 4th, drop them in the comments below!
Preferably in Downtown or Commons.
There's a new place called Steamy Dumpling next to Food Lab which seems to have gotten up and running pretty quickly. I passed by today and the inside looks renovated with employees doing some setup. It looks like they don't have any online presence that I can find.
Does anyone know anything about this place?
