Nordic Pilgrimage: In search of record shop recommendations for: Reykjavik, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Turku, Tampere, Helsinki.
To clarify, we're from the US and taking the family on a little tour of Scandanavia to visit family. Will definitely be in the places listed above for 2-3+ days each, but also have some flexibility to get to places around those areas as well. This doesn't have anything to do with regional music or genres or anything like that, we just happen to be going to that area.
I will have limited capacity to bring back anything in luggage, so likely plan to ship anything I buy, but the intention is more experiential than anything else. Kids have limited international travel. (Disney cruise that stopped in the Bahamas, they were very unimpressed, but much younger). The kids do like hitting up local shops in the area and talking music with people, browsing vinyl, etc.
(I'm not seriously concerned with shipping costs; if I have fun digging, especially with the kids, the memories outweigh the dollars, so not looking for "well, this place is cool, but you could buy it online or at Target cheaper", etc.)
Just looking for any local area shop recommendations that would be fun to hit up, even if it just means all we do is kill an afternoon in a cool place chatting with people and browsing, etc.
If it matters, the girls are 10 and 12 years old, and in general we all like pretty much anything except modern country. Any country 90's or earlier is probably in the mix, but generally we're a mix of standards, punk, pop, rock, metal, orchestral, soundtracks, blues, a little disco, etc. Some of the girls favorite artists currently (according their Apple Music history; they're currently at a language camp practicing Finnish, lol): Queen, Weird Al, Johnny Cash, Prince, Foo Fighters, Benson Boone, The Band, Green Day, Everly Brothers, Journey, Cake, Taylor Swift, Tate McRae, Black Sabbath, Willie Nelson, Cheap Trick, David Bowie, Nirvana, Sinatra, STP, Olivia Newton John (thanks, Grease), the Beatles, and the Hamilton soundtrack, lol.
Any and all recommendations welcome! Also, if anyone has any coffee shops, restaurants, or local attractions that they'd like to recommend, we're definitely listening!
Glad to see he and Jokic at the end making sure nothing crazy is brewing, shaking hands, etc., but that interview was hype. No idea if it was a humble thing "it's over, no point in talking" comment, or more of a passive aggressive "there's nothing to talk about now that they got sent to Cancun", but I loved that post game interview.
