Accom

Hii,

I've just firmed York, and I'm currently looking at accom, but I was wondering about the whole allocation aspect of it. I'm only rlly looking at Fairfax house, and maybe Halifax, or Alcuin. This is mainly due to the cost aspect of it. Is it likely for me to get my first choice accom? Are there any specific deciding factors, or is it random? And if I end up being allocated a higher priced accom (cos we have to pick 7), would I be able to look for accom in the city with no money lost?

Hey guys. I'm currently in Y13, hoping to go on to do medicine after a-levels, and I was thinking of tutoring as a way to help with uni costs. Will this be a feasible solution or am I being too optimistic. I'm estimating about an extra 3/4 grand per year for accom and minimal food expenses. Will tutoring be enough for this, or should I look into some other jobs? And will I be able to manage it with med?
