Que corretora escolher para DCA a longo prazo? (Trade Republic vs Trading 212)

Boas pessoal,
Tenho 18 anos e estou a começar agora a investir com uma perspetiva de longo prazo. A minha ideia é fazer DCA provavelmente num ETF All World.

Obrigado.

18M trying to choose between Trading 212 and Trade Republic for monthly DCA + question about credit card

Hi everyone,
I’m 18 years old and I’m just starting my investing journey. My goal is to do monthly DCA into ETFs for the long term. ~30/35 years
Right now, I’m undecided between two platforms and I would like some help to choose one:

Trade Republic, because it also works like a bank, offers a card, cashback, and pays interest on uninvested cash.
Trading 212, because it seems more focused purely on investing, especially ETFs, and is widely used for easy DCA investing.

I also currently have a traditional Portuguese bank account where I keep my day-to-day money. I’m not sure if I should keep using that for daily expenses, or if it would make sense to move everything to Trade Republic since it can also function as a bank, or just keep everything separated.

Another question I have is about credit cards. I don’t have one yet. I’m not sure if it makes sense to get one at 18, or if it’s still too early. What are the real advantages of having a credit card at this stage (credit history, cashback, security, etc.), and which ones should I think about having?

Thanks!

18yo starting long-term DCA – VWCE vs WEBN + portfolio advice?

Hey everyone,

I’m 18 and looking to start investing for the long term using a DCA. The idea is to keep things simple and really stick to a “set and forget” mindset, not panic selling during drops, and actually trying to buy more when the market is down.

Right now I’m a bit stuck choosing between VWCE and WEBN. I’ve seen a lot of people speak highly on WEBN because of its low TER, but I’m not sure if one has a clear advantage over the other in the long run, so I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’m also unsure about how I should structure my portfolio. These are the options I’ve been thinking about:

- 100% VWCE/WEBN
- 90% VWCE/WEBN + 10% small caps
- 90% VWCE/WEBN + 10% a tilt ETF (probably semiconductors- SEC0)
- 80–90% VWCE + 5–10% small caps + 5–10% a tilt ETF

Part of me wants to keep it super simple, but I also wonder if adding a small tilt or small caps could be worth it long term.

My plan is to start with around €50/month and increase it whenever I can over time.

What would you do in my situation? And do you think it’s better to just keep it simple or add a bit more diversification/tilt from the start?

Appreciate any opinions or advice.

advice 18 yr old long term portfolio

Hi i’m 18 years old and I’m thinking about starting a DCA for long term ( ~ 35 years ) , trying to retire earlier. I’m from Portugal and the salaries here are not that high , but I will put some every month. Planning to start with 50€ month and keep increasing when I can.
My plan is to diversify my portfolio with a core and give some boost with some tech probably. I was thinking about VWCE as my core, making 70% of my portfolio. To get some tilt , my idea is 15% on Nasdaq-100 and diversify more adding 10% on small caps. The last 5% i was thinking about BTC, but i don’t have any knowledge about crypto so i’m in doubt.

Some advices I would like to have are if 15% on Nasdaq is too much overlapping due to already having VWCE, if VWCE is a good core, if i really need small caps , should i remove or lower BTC, need for gold at my age, add some emergent markets and if i can believe that the US are going to dominate the market for the next 20-30 years.

If anyone could help me I would be grateful
Thank you

18yr old starting long-term DCA — how much tech tilt is too much?

I’m 18 from Portugal and planning to invest monthly for the long term (30+ years), mainly through ETFs.

Right now I’m thinking of using Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF as my core holding, since it already gives global exposure.

I was considering adding a tilt with something like Invesco EQQQ Nasdaq-100 UCITS ETF plus some small caps, and a small allocation (~5%) to Bitcoin.

My main doubt is whether adding Nasdaq on top of VWCE creates too much concentration in US tech over such a long horizon.

I’m aiming to stay fully invested through crashes and keep it simple.

Would you keep the tech tilt or just stick closer to a pure global allocation?
