God Damn Paw Patrol Movie

My son loves Paw Patrol. I feel indifferent about it. I took him to see the new movie and prepared myself to sit through a 1.5 hour long toy commercial.

But at the climax of the movie, (and I can’t believe I’m trying not to spoil a bloody Paw Patrol movie) they focus on the message of not giving up and (most importantly, IMO) not focusing on your mistakes.

I have been really guilty of that last part lately, and I needed to hear that. I got a bit choked up even.

As the credits role, I expect my kid to say the usual things after a movie, but the first thing out of his mouth with no prompts was “That movie had a good message. You don’t have to be perfect.”

God damn it Paw Patrol. Well done. I didn’t even want to watch this one, but I’m glad we did.

Something went really wrong (or REALLY right) with this bag of Simply Doritos Cool Ranch

That‘s a lot of powder, baby.

Single dads (and moms), you’re the real MVP

Took my son on our first solo trip.

One day in, I’m beat to shit. Forgive the brevity, I’m exhausted and taking a little break.

Big respect to the single parents doing this every day.

I’m sorry. This isn’t ragebait. I really like the new food court chicken strips.

Okay. Before you ban me, hear me out.

I’ve always hated the chicken strips in the food court because they always had that slimy chewy cartilage running down the centre. While my wife would get them from time to time, I’d sample her leftovers and usually recoil.

The other day my kid asked for some, so I grab a box. They chow while I go sulk. Later, as I’m cleaning up dinner, I go for a sample bite.

What’s this? Where is the nasty surprise? Where is the gag inducing snot river? Where is the unchewable reminder that this meat was torn from bone with savagery and rage?

I assumed it was a fluke. I wondered if I should tempt fate with another sample, or would I ruin this moment by vomiting on the floor? Should I eat one more simply for the data? For science? I can always blame the dog if I puke.

So I nibble once more. Then bite. Then gorge.

And yay, it was good.

I get that many folks hate them. I know they are more processed. I know it’s smaller.

But I like them.

Sorry.

Edit: extra sorry, edits for spelling.
