Description

...TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 PM EDT FOR SOUTHERN BEAVER COUNTY...

At 305 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Shippingport, or 8 miles southeast of East Liverpool, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

Locations impacted include... Aliquippa, Ambridge and Harmony Township.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

Best of Beaver County

Always thought it would be a neat idea to do a best of for Beaver County like they do for the city but have actual residents submit nominees. I think the Beaver County Times does something like this but not everyone reads/subscribes. This is just for fun and no personal info is collected unless you fill it in when you submit the form. Kept the categories/nominees small but if it becomes popular I can add more next year.

There are 6 categories with 5 nominees for each category.

Here is how it will work:

ROUND 1 — NOMINATIONS
Submit your favorite businesses, places, events, or people for consideration.

ROUND 2 — FINAL VOTING
The top nominees in each category will become finalists, and you will decide the winners.

You don't have to nominate someone in every category. Submit as many nominations as you'd like.

Nominations close in 2 weeks (8/15/26). 

The official finalists will be announced before final voting begins.
