Anyone know of anywhere I can get some manual driving lessons around beaver county? I’m looking to switch over to a manual car but haven’t driven one.

I accepted this position because it sounded like a supportive company with great daytime hours and performance-based pay. Unfortunately, my experience was very different, and I feel morally obligated to share these details.

The pay structure is much more complicated than it initially appears. Commission percentages can decrease for reasons unrelated to the quality of your work. Calling off sick or using approved requested time off can reduce your commission percentage for the entire week. Because of how the policy is applied, I saw one employee receive the lowest commission rate (30% revenue share) for three consecutive weeks due solely to vacation days that had been pre-approved by management.

Travel between clients during the workday is unpaid, even when appointments are scheduled significant distances apart (regularly 30-45 minute drives, sometimes up to an hour), and there is no mileage or toll reimbursement.

Employees are also expected to return to correct customer complaints without additional compensation. If they are unwilling or unable to do so, the pay they originally received for that cleaning is deducted and paid to another employee who completes the correction.

The employee handbook states that employees who leave without giving two weeks' notice will have their pay for the week they resign and the previous week reduced to minimum wage ($7.25/hour). I personally witnessed multiple employees affected by this policy.

I also witnessed several employees who did give the requested two weeks' notice have their schedules drastically reduced after giving notice. In multiple cases, cleaners who had been working around 10 cleans per week were reduced to approximately 3 cleans during their first week of notice and then scheduled for no work during their second week, significantly reducing the income they expected to earn by honoring the company's notice policy. They asked to be put back on the schedule and were told by management that they were "no longer a priority because they had one foot out the door."

If you're considering applying, I encourage you to read every hiring document carefully before signing. I didn't fully understand how some of these policies would affect my pay until I was already employed. Ask detailed questions about how commissions are calculated, how requested time off affects pay, how travel time is compensated, what happens when customer discounts are issued, how correction cleans are handled, and how resignation policies are applied. Talk these things over with people you trust if anything seems unclear.

Looks to be ppl possibly impersonating law enforcement knocking on doors. A tall male and tall female. They got out of a charcoal colored suv. Don’t remember what brand was. No blue government plate though that caught my eye. No paperwork in hands. After they entered the building I heard them below my apartment knocking at whoever lives there’s door. I then hear the woman get aggressive screaming “open the god damn door”. Not sure what happened after. Went back to eating. Do not answer your door whatsoever if you see any suspicious looking like ppl that could be impersonating law enforcement!! Call 911. I hope that person didn’t get abducted and hoping it wasn’t ICE starting to round up citizens.

Could any of you lovely locals shed some light on what the Uber/Lyft/Taxi situation is like in Beaver?

I’ll be traveling there later this year from out of state for a wedding, and while I found a place to stay that’s a short, walkable distance from the venue in theory, it looks like there’s no way to get there without traveling down what seems to be a very un-walkable highway.

Trying to figure out if I can save some money and avoid renting a car, or if it’ll be more of a headache than it’s worth.

Along with rides to and from the venue, I’d also need to book rides to and from PIT airport to Beaver, if that makes a difference.

The power is out again New Brighton. It’s been up and down for the past 24 hours and hasn’t been on more than 6. Duquesne light appears to be clueless as usual. The power will come back up for about 10 minutes, then go down for 2. The house is approaching 89 degrees and my refrigerator is pretty much lukewarm at this point.

No answers from Duquesne Light. What the hell is going on?

Our power (in Beaver) is intermittent. It goes out for 5-15 minutes & then on for about the same time. It's definitely better than just no power in this oppressive heat, but i just wanted to make sure it's not a problem in our house.

Has anyone looked into how the AHN / Heritage Valley merge will affect UPMC covered people? Historically Hetiage was in-network for UPMC, but AHN and UPMC are direct competitors.

I have an email out to UPMC but haven’t heard back yet.

Was wondering if anyone else looking in to or heard this as well. It would be crazy to have a whole region go uncovered, but then again this is healthcare we’re talking about lol

All of us that are forced to use Giant Eagle pharmacy due to insurance, what happens now? I can't fill my medication anywhere else.

Im staying in West Virginia but working in the Freedom township area for 6 months. Are there any local farm stands that I would be able to stop by on my commute back and forth?

Also are there any stands in beaver county that would be worth making a trip past when im out in the motorcycle.

For decades my family and I have purchased from the farm stand at the bottom of Dunlap Hill Road in Economy, but there’s been no sign of them setting up so far this year. Does anyone have any information regarding this? Also, does anyone have recommendations for an alternative farm stand? I know the Ambridge farmers market is a nearby alternative but I wasn’t particularly impressed when I visited there in the past.

Hey everyone, for beaver county boom I know traffic and parking is kind of a nightmare but I was wondering if there's anywhere good to park for elderly people? (No not handicapped but somewhere that my 70 year old parents wouldn't have to walk far). They're coming from the side of 65 by the veterans memorial bridge

Looking for any suggestions of good dog boarding options during the peak holiday season. Have a very friendly dachshund that doesn’t love other dogs, trying to find somewhere safe for 2 weeks over Christmas. Have used Rover with not the greatest experience.

Hi:

I have been having increasingly bad back trouble for a few months now. It has reached the point that it becoming difficult to walk. I finally convinced my doctor this was something more than a pulled or strained muscle and he ordered an MRI last Wednesday. I am wondering how long it is realistically taking to get results. I saw somewhere it was taking as long as 3-4 weeks, which seems insane. I'm not sure I can spend another month this way, I can't even sleep properly it hurts so bad. I can't even make it from my vehicle in the parking lot to say, the front door of Walmart or a grocery store, let alone walk around inside.

Exact date not determined though will be in Beaver Falls. Want local musicians looking for exposure.
