Akon came on for 4 songs and then did not come back. We paid $80+ a ticket for this. I am so upset. I just want to commiserate. (my friend waited her whole life for this concert, since she was 13 year-old, and she’s never felt more disappointed in her entire life.)
An update to this post from over two months ago. I don’t recommend getting caught in a hail storm. Dealing with this for so long sucked. Car was fixed at a Lexus certified repair shop + OEM everything.
Having it fixed was the better scenario for me. I did not want to deal with getting a new car at this time. The payments would be higher + the time to find a new car would be significant. I leased bc I like the lower monthly payments + then I buy the car out at the end.
I am not doing that now due to what I understand is the diminished value of the car. (Side note - can anyone tell me why prior hail damage has such an impact on value if the car has documents proving it was repaired 100% correctly? I’m struggling to understand other than it just being a tactic to pay less for the car.) Either way, I will turn it in at lease end in 2 years.
On the turn in note, the car is fixed to OEM standards. No liability for my lease turn in, my duty to repair is fulfilled. I reviewed my lease terms. *Whether it’s valued differently in the market bc it had hail damage is not my problem.*
A lot of people asked how they would even fix it, here’s how they did it. No “bondo and paint”. New hood, new doors, new trim, new panels, new lift gate. Paint matches. Roof was not cut off. It was PDR’d. Left side was PDR’d. Lots of other things. The line item is like +200 things. It was truly insane.
This just speaks to the value of these cars. I am truly shocked my insurance paid almost $30k for this car rather than total out. (Shop was shocked too.) The car is worth about $65k and I had about $46k left to buy it out when this happened.
Anyway, going to go stare at my car now as it sits in the garage bc I missed her so much.
I’ve been looking for shoes for my wedding and was willing to spend a bit more money on (what I thought was) a quality pair of shoes.

They arrived with numerous defects on them, as shown in the photos. Note the random spots, discoloration, fraying threads, etc.
I posted my displeasure in r/shoes and some people were asking if I thought they were a dupe, like I received a pair that someone had switched out and returned. This is my first pair of these so I have no idea what they are supposed to look like, but I’m not dumb enough to accept shoes that cost over $1k with this many defects.
I will be returning bc 1) they don’t fit (way too narrow) and 2) again the defects.
I am just curious if anyone can authenticate these. Are they real and just terrible quality control? Or did someone try to pull a fast one?
Like these are all little nit picky things but I’ve bought shoes for less than $100 that arrived in mint condition. Will they stay mint? No but the point is when I’m paying over $1k for shoes, they better be perfect. Am I being dramatic here?? I am returning these anyway because they don’t fit but now I don’t even want to buy another pair bc this quality control is shit.

Went on a walk this morning, noticed that my hostas were a late night snack for some deer, then spotted one of the culprits (this little baby) under a nearby fence. I saw its ears moving so it’s just hanging out waiting for mom. We left it alone and my pup didn’t even notice (he’s a disgrace to his ancestors).

I am currently in the throes of wedding planning - combine that with decision fatigue - and I am down bad.
I finally saw hope when I found this shoe - the brand is Anne Barge, the style is Muse Floral Silk Sandals.
She’s my dream wedding shoe and compliments my dress perfectly. What do I like about her? The following:
- the subtle Jacquard pattern
- open toe
- approximately 3.5 inches
- round toe
- ankle strap
Unfortunately for me, I am a size 9.5 (preferably wide). For some reason (perhaps a curse), I cannot find this shoe in my size or any size close to it. My size was not even an option to say sold out.
Safe to say, I can’t get this shoe out of my head. I have tried to find something similar but I cannot. If it’s on the first couple of pages of Google, I’ve already seen it. It’s like they only made this shoe in a 5-7 size and never again. I even messaged Anne barge in a desperate attempt to see if it was coming back.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to help me find a similar shoe with the above attributes, most importantly I would love the jacquard pattern. (I see they have this style without the pattern still available, so that will be my back up.)
My budget is approximately $500 but will consider up to $1000 for the right shoe.
My timeline is ASAP as I have my dress and need to take her for alterations by the end of the month. Wedding is in October.
