Try 5G Broadband or stick with unreliable FTTC?
Hey guys, looking for some advice as my current contract is about to end and I'm wondering if I should give 5G Broadband a go.
I live in the country, we have fibre to the cabinet and currently get speeds around 50/60Mbs, on a good day - the main issue is that at least two times a year the contract farmers pull down our supply when harvesting, its become so common that I'm on first name terms with the local engineers now. On top of that the supply comes through a lot of trees and when we get strong winds & rain our speeds drop noticeably.
Apparently I'm in Vodaphone's 5G plus area, and so with the reliability issues I have I'm wondering if it might be a better option for me? I could try their 1-month plan for £31 and then move it over to a 24 month plan if it works well.
If FTTC is still preferable, what supplier would you recommend? My priorities are a good router with the best WIFI coverage (Old house with no networking, all devices run off wifi) Ideally wifi 6/7 capable, but these seem to only be offered with full FTTP packages.
Thanks,
