I don't like how criticism of a certain religion is reflexively regarded as a -phobia
It isn't a race. It just isn't. It's practiced by people of literally every race.
Criticism of other religions, including certain other Abrahamic religions, doesn't make someone racist toward members of those religions at all. People who use the -phobia word would easily concede this. Yet when the world's fastest-growing (and most conservative) major religion is criticized instead, it becomes a sacred cow for people who fashion themselves as the least conservative people in the world (avowed atheists, even), and they'll use the -phobia word as a cudgel to prevent you from criticizing it. Bizarre stuff.
I just don't think it's beyond the pale to take someone's holy book at face value, regardless of what it is. Of course there are people who will twist it into something more liberal—people are people—but the book needs to be acknowledged as the book that it is.
