I just finished a knitted top and unfortunately it is too big. I want it to be tighter especially around the waist.
Do you have any advice on how to solve this afterwards?
So far I was thinking about an obvious lacing in the back or maybe I could fold the top at both sides and sew it together? Any advice would be really appreciated😭

I’m knitting the Rose top by Mathilde Knits. Its stockinette and the neckline/border was constructed like this:
knit 3 rows
purl 1 row (meant to act as a folding line)
continue the top normally
at the end, fold the edge inward along the purl row and sew it down
I sewed the folded edge down on the inside, but now the neckline/border is flaring out and standing away from the body instead of lying flat.
Any advice?
