Need help with walk training
My puppy is 4 months now. I’ve tried collar and harness but she’s just stubborn, I’ve watched a lot of videos on YouTube about popping the leash, treats, no treats, etc. but whenever I try to go a place she doesn’t want to go, she will just pull, sit or lay down.
The only exception is when I run, if she sees me running, she will run next to me but I can’t be running everywhere all the time.
It’s been weeks and there has been very little progress. She’s been getting better at interacting with other dogs and people but she will still ignore me, my commands and treats if another dog gets close.
Question on an 06 x3 25i
Hi everyone,
I’m in the market for a mid size SUV, preferably something a little older that I can maintain myself and that’s how I came across this X3.
Owner is an older gentleman, lives in a rich part of town with a dedicated bmw shop down the street. While he did t have service records he was ok with calling the shop on Monday to get them.
This car is mainly driven by his grandson once or twice a month when he visits.
After inspecting the car, it didn’t have any body repairs, car was garaged so paint is still in great shape.
Interior is ok for a 20 year old car, not a single tear in the seats, carpet or ceiling.
No leaks or signs of old leaks anywhere (engine bay was not cleaned prior to inspection).
Has fairly new Pirelli tires, all the electronics work, even the sunroof.
130k miles in the odometer, he mainly used it on long trips (Baja California to Oregon)
Now for what I did notice:
- RPM’s where dancing a bit during cold start, they stay at 1000 after warming up
- Needs brakes and probably rotors
- Power steering was stiff, I’m used to electronic steering but I still think this was a bit much for hydraulic.
- He doesn’t remember if coolant hoses were replaced but they seemed in good shape.
- Suspension was in awesome shape, way better than all the 2015+ SUV’s that I test drove this week, not a single noise and we drove through a long gravel road.
- Car was driven and stayed at Washington for a year, service records and stickers for that time were readily available.
I’m attaching the codes I found after scanning the car, price was on the higher side, he’s asking 4k, these cars typically go for 2.5 - 3k max. He was pretty confident in the work that the shop has done and was pretty firm on the price.
I’ve been googling the codes and none of them seem to be a big pain to fix, but I don’t know if the sum of them might indicate a bigger problem.
Btw, If I were to get a PPI it would have to be at the bmw shop near his home as that’s the only reputable one in the area.
2007 xc90 as a project car
Hi everyone!
I’ve been thinking about getting a project car since i have more free time now and haven’t really worked on one for a while.
Anyway, I found this 2007 xc90, owner is asking $2,700 USD. Here’s what I know about the it after calling the owner:
- All paperwork is up to date
- Car has been garaged its whole life.
- Has just over 100k miles
- Exterior has no dings or scratches
- Interior needs some work (dog bites, kids spilling drinks, etc. )
- Transmission is the main pain point, it jerks after it’s up to temp. Works fine right after a cold start.
- A mechanic looked at it and said it needed new solenoids
- Owner mentioned it’s been parked for a while and sat unused for about a year (2024) before he drove it again (2025) and started noticing issues (End of 2025).
- V8 Engine
I’ve never had a Volvo before so this will be completely new to me, but I’m not afraid of getting a wrench and start tearing stuff apart.
My only concern is, with the car sitting for so long, it can have other issues but I don’t know how sensitive Volvo’s fluids, gaskets, etc. are in these scenarios.
As for the issue he mentioned, I’m pretty sure if it was just the solenoids he would’ve fixed them already so I’m guessing it’s something else like a valve cover or a completely shot transmission.
So my main question is, how likely is it to be a major repair where parts would cost more than the car?
Edit: added the engine
Questions on adopting and buying Frenchie
Hi everyone,
A coworker’s frenchie just had a litter, he’s not a breeder, he just wanted his female frenchie to have puppies before spaying her. So he’s only asking to cover the vet, shots and other miscellaneous costs, which totals to around $250 when converted to USD.
The pup is a 6 week old grey (lilac?) frenchie and she will be out for adoption in about 2 weeks. I’m not too concerned about this one as I’m adopting her, I’m just concerned about her nose and want to make sure if it’s normal or if I should keep an eye on her as she grows up.
What I am concerned about is, I thought about getting her a partner and saw a Merle (last picture) from what people say is a reputable breeder in a city nearby.
However, reading other posts and google, Merle’s are not considered purebred and it looks like they are very prone to having health issues.
She offered an AKC registration, but from what I read on Google, the AKC doesn’t recognize Merle as a frenchie color either but Frenchbulldog.org does list it as a valid color.
I’m new to Frenchies and the whole “this is legit, this is not” has been very confusing, so I’m looking for some advice on what to be aware of, specially because most if not all “reputable breeders” in Mexico offer Merle, Isabella, fluffy and other variants that are associated with unethical breeding.
