Am I overreacting for how men are behaving online these days?

So as a woman who is in her late 20s, I have been trying to be open and meeting and getting to know people online. I have met a lot of people and the things I went through.. has been interesting.

For instance, I matched with someone and we had a good video call. However, he suddenly he asked for another one and when I answered he kept saying how aroused he is and then i am exposed of himself jerking off with his ugly ass d1ck.

This is not something that happens once or twice, i have had to endure a lot of unsolicited nudes and horny ass dudes online and it always ends up with me blocking them.

I want to ask the puans in this sub, whether im being too prude or overreacting? I feel violated but at the same time is this something to be expected when im trying to find a connection with someone?

Will I have to normalize that this is just how men are?

Because right now i feel disgusted🥲

28 F4A - Looking for Someone to Share My Day With

hii, 28F from indonesia here :) i’ve been feeling pretty lonely lately and i think it would be nice to have someone i can talk to regularly about random everyday things like how our day went, work drama, what we ate, whatever is currently making us anxious, or something completely pointless hahaha.

i’m currently preparing to leave my corporate IT job and move to taiwan for my master’s at the end of august. it’s something i’ve wanted for a while, but now that it’s getting close i’m simultaneously excited, terrified, and questioning all my life decisions 🥲 so you’ll probably hear a lot about my preparations, financial panic, beginner-level mandarin struggles, and eventually my attempts to survive as a new student in taiwan.

a little about me: i’m muslim, introverted but can talk a lot once i’m comfortable, work in tech/banking, love cats, and have recently become way too obsessed with ace attorney. i also like story-heavy games, movies, and overthinking almost everything haha.

i’d love someone who genuinely enjoys daily conversations instead of disappearing after one night. we can also exchange occasional everyday picture! cats, food, places we visit, some selfies once we’re both comfortable, that kind of thing. Convos in english is a plus!!!

this doesn’t have to immediately become romantic. i mostly miss having a person i can consistently share my day with, and i’d be happy to listen to yours too. tell me a little about yourself and what your days usually look like :)

What to prepare before starting master's abroad?

Hello! I am Indonesian and will start my master's degree in Taiwan this fall. Since I am someone with more experience of working instead of research, what do you recommend me to start preparing before my departure?

I am a bit worried because I have no research experience at all. Where do I start so I can be able to adapt in Academia again?

I will really appreciate any feedback, thank you!

28F - Feeling hopeless in the romantic scene due to age after ending a 4 year relationship

Hello! Setelah putus dengan pasangan sekitar 1 tahun yang lalu di umur menjelang 30 ini akhir2 ini merasa sedikit hopeless, especially as a woman. I tried dating apps but nothing seemed to work. So I want to find anyone who wants to befriend or try to start something with me if that's okay.

Here is something about me:

- I am a muslim, I wear hijab (but not really religious tbh)

- I work in a bank in the IT sector, but will pursue a master's degree in Taiwan in September

- I have enough salary and savings, so I am quite independent

- I like conversing in English

- I hate 02 voters :)

- I love playing some RP games, last game I played was disco elysium!

- I am into pop music and culture

- I dont mind LDR as long as you are serious and actually make time

If you are interested, you can always hit me up! I am not strict about anyone who wants to befriend me, but otherwise I just hope the description about me is suitable for you.

Thank you

NTHU International Student Scholarship

Hello, everyone. So I just got notified that I am eligible to receive NTHU's International Student Scholarship for this fall. The program I got admitted to is Information Systems and Applications.

The coverage for this scholsrship is tuition fee + credit fee and monthly stipend of 5000 NTD. I noticrd that I still need to top up these stipend which I could, however I believe in order to be stable I would need to get an internship or RA/TA.

Do you think I should go forward with it? Is getting an internship in NTHU possible?

Any insights would help. Thank you!
