Identification?

Any idea what this was? Found it on a Southern California beach at low tide. I thought it was a live animal at first but it was completely hard, looked almost fossil-like.

Mud dauber nest?

Up in a corner above my front door, located in Arizona! Thought maybe a termite tube at first but looks too big and isn’t attached to wood.

Chandler discontinues Flock

Perfect time to start pressuring our council, especially our two new progressive members, to follow suit.

Emails for all city council members and their assistants can be found here. Anyone who feels any kind of way about Flock should be reaching out to their elected officials often.

Chandler discontinued their contract after finding evidence that there had been an 'anomaly' in the use of the LPRs - AKA, someone used it for non-policing related reasons.

Thermostat Voltage issues?

Hi all - installed a new Google Nest (mirrored, not learning) thermostat about 2 weeks ago to replace my old gen 1 that was no longer able to be used remotely (thanks Google!!!)

My AC is now short cycling and not reaching desired temps most of the day. No, I don’t have a C wire and it seems like this is probably the issue - but I’m also wondering if maybe I just have a faulty Nest? The voltage is currently reading as 3.13 volts, and everything I’m seeing online is saying the nest display shouldn’t even be able to turn on if it has less than 3.6 volts. So before I get someone to come out and mess around with a c wire or power connector, I’m wondering if I should reach out to Google and see if this is something they’d send a replacement out for.

Also just interested in any other similar experiences. TIA!

key help

Hey all - looking for any recs or ideas here. Bought my CX-30 about 2 years ago, learned the hard way to ask about # of keys BEFORE I sign on the dotted line. (Was my first solo car purchase).

I finally got around to having a 2nd key made by the guys that do it while you shop at Costco. It was convenient and I knew I'd never get around to it otherwise. What I didn't realize until after they pointed it out is that I do not have an emergency blade in my fob. So now I have 2 fobs, but I have 0 emergency blades and am basically SOL should my battery ever completely die.

I see that I can order the blank emergency blade online, but has anyone had luck finding a locksmith or local auto place willing to replace ONLY the blade? I don't think I'll have any luck taking this complaint back to the dealer since it's been so long since I bought the car.
