Sometimes friendly fire is necessary. For plot reasons.

Look man, this story isn't going to progress itself.

I guess "and [you hit someone else] in the face with the force of 7 very large trucks" would be more accurate in this case but whatever. Same formula.

But hey!!! They're buddies again!!!!

Insurance denied— Help!!!!

I (18) failed my past biologic (entyvio) recently. Just over a month ago, my doctor put in an approval request for Omvoh instead. I very recently got a letter in the mail (crazy that the mail got to me before my GI office who hasn’t even called yet but whatever) that they would not cover it and want me to try FIVE (yes, you read that right) medications from a pre approved list total before they would consider it.

The only thing keeping me from falling right back into life-threatening flare territory right now is a prescription of prednisone I’m already tapering off of and due to end in about two weeks. I’m still under my parents plan so they’ll (thankfully) be the ones doing most of the fighting because I am utterly CLUELESS as to what to do in this situation. But at the same time, I was only diagnosed this year and this entire thing is so new to us all??? Does anyone have any advice that could smooth this out???

Looking for Functional, Reusable/Washable Masks-- Any Recommendations?

Hi there. I'm pretty fresh out of diagnosis with my chronic illness. Right now I'm still being treated for a pretty mean flare-up that makes me really not want to get sicker, and on medication/going onto another medication that weaken my immune system (prednisone, soon a new biologic) so I double don't want to get sicker lol.

With a bunch of different attributes sneaking up on me making it easier for me to get sicker, I've been heavily considering investing in some actually reusable masks to wear in crowded, public spaces. And right now my access to masks is... slim to none (like one basic fabric mask, a few leftover disposables from the pandemic). I've been looking into actually decent masks to wear, and a few brands (like futureppe) look pretty solid. But masks in general are attention-grabbing for some reason, and they don't even take the extra second to at least look good while being like that. Anyone know any brands that look and work good? Probably just going to invest in some plain black ones of a solid brand in the meantime though, haha. Thanks in advanced!

Opinions on Omvoh?

So, I’m still pretty freshly diagnosed with Crohn’s and new to everything. But I’ve been diagnosed long enough to try (and fail) Entyvio, and now my GI is planning on switching me to Omvoh.

The idea of self injection seems a little freaky, but I’m trying to comfort myself with the idea because 1) it’ll be convenient, and 2) apparently I can get a nurse to show me how to use the pen and that is very reassuring.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else here was on it, and what your experiences have been like? From what I’ve read so far, it seems a lot kinder on the body than Entyvio (may that kidney pain never find me again…) but I’d like to hear from others on it. I sort of have a Thing when it comes to new medical stuff, so it’s always really comforting to me to hear the ‘this stuff is completely fine’ stories lol.

Campaign Tale: Kobold v. Barbarossa Friendly Fire

You will NEVER GUESS who won that roll-off.

So, this happened a good few sessions ago in the campaign I'm currently playing in. Everyone in the party (and the GM) is very, very new to LANCER. Including myself. We're still fuzzy on a good few rules and default to rule of cool when we don't know or don't really care to stay strictly to the base rules.

It was babbys first metavault, things are going about as horribly as you expect, and we're basically on a miniboss rush. Our GM is a special kind of cruel (shout out Jesus) and is making these things bigger than our teams Barbarossa for some reason that really only he knows. I was rolling with my fresh new Kobold and was making a very bad habit of treating enemies like monkey bars (have yet to break that habit btw). This one was no different. Forgot if this was the one that bled or not, but either way my Kobold was all in this absolutely gargantuan enemy frame's face.

The party's got the enemy's health really low at this point, and our Barbarossa has finally achieved charge rail 1. And I, out of what I can only assume was pure hubris, did not take my final turn before he fired the apocalypse rail to get off the targeted enemy. Our GM tried to give me an out, and I rejected. My ego was running wild and the only thing going on in my head was the Gojo "Nah, I'd win" image bouncing around my skull DVD logo style.

Our GM, ever merciful, instructs me to roll against our Barbarossa. He gets roughly a 17 (again, this happened like a WHILE ago). Me? Nat 20. Critical success. I won. In the tiny little killdozer suit. GM decides, for some reason, that meant I was absolutely unscathed as the enemy frame essentially got turned into a ring of scrap metal and ash. My team was absolutely losing their shit watching this tiny ass Kobold tank an apocalypse rail and just stand there in the center of the destruction.

My GM unironically sent a gif of Broly getting blasted only to be standing there unscathed. Yes, this is my "and everybody clapped" moment. I have receipts.

Also, to be fair, my character was forced to relive his worst trauma ever in like the session right after that.

tldr; Kobold tanks full charge apocalypse rail out of sheer ego and spite.

Roughhh lore sketch

Had some free time and no setup (rip battery) so I decided to do a little character exploration sketch.

Some hefty Lore Development is happening and it’s making me realize that my pilot would be absolutely deranged if he encountered his source of major trauma again.

Also yayyy pilot AND npc art :)

I'm pretty fresh with all of this. I've only been diagnosed with Crohn's for about a month or so now, and I just started infusions with Entyvio. Like just had my first yesterday just started.

I'm a very medically anxious person, and that whole thing going around about the hantavirus cruise situation is already scary to begin with. So were all the warnings I got from the sweet doctor about going on the biologic, like how getting sick can be pretty bad, and how it's probably going to have an effect on my vaccine schedule.

Combined, it's got me spiraling a little and I'm pretty worried. As I get settled on my biologic, should I be more wary around diseases? Will it be like BAD bad or will a cold just lay me out for closer to a week instead of a day or two? Or is it a sort of spectrum like I've noticed a lot of things are for people with Crohn's Disease?

Thanks in advanced. This has really been consuming my brainwaves haha

EDIT: Thank you guys a lot for letting me know that I'll be fine day-to-day. Some kid in class today was hacking up a lung right next to me, and with that and some stupid posts about the aforementioned hantavirus scare (which the more I think about it the more I realize people are probably freaking out more than they should) it really got me going today lol. The past few months have been rough on me, and I think the idea of my immune system possibly taking a hit as well made me feel like I was losing even more control over my life.

I've been reassured that it does get better before, but hearing it from people with the disease who have taken that control back really hits harder. I appreciate all the advice and firsthand accounts, it really means a lot to me. Thank you all again : )
