Why did Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain start losing its charm after around 1200–1400 episodes?
I feel the show slowly started declining when several things that made the original episodes special were changed or removed.
- Removing/underusing memorable side characters
Some side characters added a lot of variety and comedy, but gradually disappeared:
- Pelu (rickshaw driver) — his interactions with Vibhuti and others were hilarious.
- Gulfam Kali — her scenes with Vibhuti and Tiwari were a completely different kind of comedy.
- Prem Chaudhary — another character who brought something different to the episodes.
- Manmohan Tiwari's younger brother and Kyu Anurag couple — I wish they had used him more.
The show became more focused on the same core characters and repetitive situations.
- Tillu was much funnier as Tiwari's servant
Tillu originally being Tiwari's servant worked really well. His chemistry with Tiwari created some genuinely funny situations.
But after adding Tika, Malkhan and Tillu together, it sometimes felt like all three were being used for the same type of comedy, and the scripts became repetitive.
- Putan should have appeared more often
I honestly think Putan was underused.
Whenever he appeared, his habit of teasing/roasting Vibhuti and Tiwari created some great comedy. He could have been brought back much more frequently instead of introducing or relying on repetitive plots.
- Happu Singh was reduced
Happu Singh was one of the strongest supporting characters in the show. His interactions with Vibhuti and Tiwari were hilarious.
But as his own show started, his presence in Bhabiji became much less frequent. From a business perspective I understand why they created a separate show, but I think Bhabiji lost one of its best supporting characters because of it.
- And finally… Anita Bhabhi / Saumya Tandon
This was probably the biggest change for me.
Saumya Tandon's Anita Bhabhi was extremely difficult to replace. It wasn't just the character; her chemistry with Vibhuti, Tiwari and Angoori was a huge part of the show's original balance.
After she left, the show continued, but I never felt that the replacement had the same impact or chemistry.
Overall, I don't think the show suddenly became bad. It just gradually lost some of the character variety, chemistry and unpredictability that made the earlier episodes so memorable.
For me, the early 500–1000 episodes had a completely different feel compared with the later episodes.
What do you guys think? Which character's removal or reduced appearance affected the show the most?
