I have broadband at home, so I mostly use cellular data when I am outside. I want to check the network speed and ping in my area to see if switching from Airtel to BSNL is a good idea. How can I test this to ensure I save money on recharges without compromising my outdoor connectivity?
BSNL has quietly changed its recharge plans without providing any proper notice or notification to customers.
Earlier, the ₹225 plan offered 2.5 GB data per day with 30 days of validity, but the validity has now been reduced to 28 days.
Similarly, the ₹199 plan, which offered 2 GB data per day with 30 days of validity, was first reduced to 28 days and has now been increased from ₹199 to ₹219, apparently without any prior notice or notification to customers.
These changes effectively reduce the benefits while increasing the price. Customers should be clearly informed about such changes before they are implemented.
BSNL should provide proper transparency regarding plan modifications and notify existing customers about any changes in price, data benefits, or validity.
I'm looking to buy a new BSNL SIM card in Noida, did google search but can'tfind anything clear.
Does anyone know an active BSNL Customer Service Centre (CSC) or reliable retailer issuing SIMs right now? (Preferably around Sector 45 Sector 24 or anywhere in Noida or New Delhi). Also had two quick questions for current BSNL users in NCR:- 1. I currently have a BSNL SIM from another telecom circle. Will buying a local (UP West/NCR) BSNL SIM give noticeably better service/data here, or does national roaming on my existing SIM perform the same? 2. How is the BSNL–Vi Intra-Circle Roaming working in practice right now? Does a BSNL SIM smoothly latch onto Vi's 4G/2G network for calls and data in Delhi-NCR, or is it unreliable?
Airtel 5G + BSNL 4G
Recent days the bsnl network is really improved and better than jio in my area.
Did BSNL quietly increase the price of 199 plan to 219?
I had a ₹50 paytm coupon expiring today, so thought I'd use it before I forget, and went ahead with the yearly plan.
Instead of queuing, bsnl made it my active plan!
I complained to the customer care number asking to put it in queue instead. They said queues work only if the current and future plans are the same.
Knowing how expensive these smartphone plans are these days, I feel like my 16 days, 90 rupee worth of plan is kinda obsolete and that Money is wasted. Saved ₹50, burned ₹90 🥲.
[EDIT]: This person above did a fake post on Twitter now X platform beware !!!!
Listen you might be tired seeing these questions again and again.. but i will simplify my usage..
I currently use two SIMs:
My usage is pretty low most of the time. I'm on Wi-Fi at home, so mobile data is mainly for notifications, WhatsApp, Maps etc. when I'm outside.
The only time I use a lot of mobile data is during long-distance travel, when I might stream YouTube/OTT for timepass.
BSNL 4G is available both at my current location and my hometown. With the expected tariff hikes from private operators, I'm wondering if it makes sense to port my Jio number to BSNL and take a long-validity annual plan instead.
I'm okay with paying for a full year upfront if it saves money.
For people actually using BSNL 4G:
Basically: Airtel + Jio vs Airtel + BSNL which combination would you choose for this kind of usage?
Today, I recharged my BSNL prepaid with PV 2399, with a validity of 412 days (365 + 47).
I had ₹9.80 as base balance, but it vanished immediately after the recharge. Yesterday was my previous PV expiry, and I recharged today within my GP1 period. My entire talktime balance got deducted without any proper SMS communication.
I’m also skeptical about recharging a different PV while this plan is active. This actually happened to me around 4 years ago when someone accidentally recharged my number with a different PV... my active plan was cancelled and the new one got activated immediately. (Loss for both)
I know that recharging the same plan queues it, but what happens with a different PV? Will my existing plan get cancelled or paused?
I do have a vague idea that if I recharge with, say, ₹347 while I’m on the ₹2399 plan, the latest recharge PV 347 will be activated immediately. Once its validity ends (50 days), my earlier PV 2399 will become active again, but I’ll lose those 50 days of benefits from the ₹2399 plan.
Is that how it works..?
Any idea?
Also whaat happened to my Top up Balance ₹9.80 ?

They are slowly selling all the government assets. It feels like they know they will be in government for a limited time and they are trying to monetize as much as they can at the expense of our nation. I just hate andhbhakts that still support them.
It’s good to see BSNL voice over WiFi is working
But why TF this is not consistent ?
One minute it will come and from next minute gone
It switch like around 20-30times a day
Glad to see they had this but sad for the performance…..
Note :— Using BSNL eSIM on iPhone 17 pro
I went to a BSNL CSC recently to get an eSIM and was told that BSNL stopped issuing eSIMs about two months ago.
This surprised me because BSNL's Facebook and X accounts are still actively promoting eSIMs.
Has anyone recently tried getting a BSNL eSIM and been told the same thing? Is BSNL actually no longer issuing eSIMs, or is this specific to certain circles or CSCs?
Recently stumbled upon this tender while searching for BSNL 5G, so what are your thoughts ? will 5G really come?
