Hi guys.

I am a 26 yr old. This year I got 98%ile in XAT. I sat for interviews of top MBA colleges, but could not get the best ones. I have IMI Delhi - HRM. But I don't really want to invest 45 lakhs for a mediocre college.

I have 3 options

  1. CAT 2026 - I am sure I will get 98+ %ile, but due to my poor academics and gap years I will have a lot of problem converting good colleges.
  2. SSC CGL - I scored 82 in my first CGL mock, without any CGL prep. I know it is low. Mostly because I am not in touch since January. I like the top posts via SSC CGL. Although, I am not really sure whether I will be able to crack it this year, because GK syllabus is huge and so is English. The english we learn for CAT/XAT is really different. For CGL, it takes a lot of memorization. So, I like the exam but not sure whether I will be able to crack in 2026
  3. SBI PO / IBPS PO - I think i will be able to crack it this year. GK for these is not that difficult to cover when compared to CGL. Moreover, in banks there are good promotion prospects. Salary is also very good.

SO, I want to ask everyone who reads this - Why did you choose ssc cgl over sbi po or ibps po ??

If someone has CAT/XAT background - Why not go for MBA and earn much much more than CGL jobs' salaries

I have 4 options:

  1. IMI Delhi HRM - 30 Lakh fee as loan, for a college with stated avg of 15LPA and real avg of 13 lpa (according to this reddit post - IMI Placements)

  2. CAT 2026 - I am sure I will get 98+ %ile, but due to my poor academics and gap years I will have a lot of problem converting good colleges.

Please let me know your opinions.
