Is the USA version of the EXCM341-305GD as bad as it sounds like it is?

I'm a hobbyist woodworker, currently moving homes to a place with a bigger shop area (yay for me!). I have a 12' long benchtop to setup a miter saw on, but there is only 25" of counter depth backing up to a sheetrock wall. My old 10" compact slider (a discontinued Craftsman) was actually damaged in the move - so my hand is being forced a little bit here.

I have some credit card point I can convert to Lowe's gift cards available and was thinking to "buy once, cry once" on a Bosch compact 12" slider. I noticed a few weeks ago that they are in the midst of a rollout of an updated model (the EXCM341-305GD) which has fewer exciting new features for the USA model than the Euro spec. I'm fine with that because I understand the euro spec model comes with a steeper price tag to match the extra features - and I think I can live without them.

What I am not fine with is a bunch of early reviews on the Lowe's website (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Bosch-Bosch-Glide-12-in-15-Amp-Dual-Bevel-Sliding-Compound-Corded-Miter-Saw/5017810583) that indicate there might be problems with blade run-out and worse deflection than the previous model.

Has anybody put their hands on one of these yet and can offer an unbiased opinion on whether these reviews are just a small sample, or if the new saw is really a downgrade from the GCM12SD which it is replacing? There was a short window when my local store had a GCM to sell at a discounted price, but it is gone from the website now...

All thoughts are appreciated!

Best dealer for service in Houston?

Hello all,

I'm coming up on my first 7,500 mi service. I know there isn't much that needs doing, but I'd like to use this as an opportunity to establish a relationship with a local service department, for if/when I need them later.

I bought my truck from 1,000 miles away because they had the exact config. I wanted in inventory and they were fair on the price.

I live and work on the north side of town, but I don't mind driving downtown or out into the exurbs for people who know what they're doing with these trucks.

Anybody have personal experience that is really good or really bad, specific to these ultium EVs they can share in our area?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

HS2LCDWF9 v1.51 compatible with HS3248?

I'm setting up a new system at home based on the HS3248 Power Series Pro. I'm mostly done with the wired keypads and sensors, but need to set up a 2nd partition in an ADU which is all wireless.

I had bought a couple of new-old-stock wire free HS2LCDWF9 keypads that turned out to be very old stock, v1.10 units. I haven't been able to get them to enroll automatically or through manual entry yet, and after looking at the reference manual, I suspect they are just not compatible. I am a little confused with attempting manual entry because the control wants an 8 digit ESN but the keypads show in the format: XXX-XXXX ?

I know I can buy the HS2LCDWFPRO9 and they are listed as compatible, but they are pretty spendy... I have seen some other HS2LCDWF9 units listed as v1.51 at about half that cost. There is a note in the Power Series Pro online reference manual that says keypads must be v1.40+ to be compatible, but the HS2LCDWF9 is not specifically listed in the manual, it's just a general note.

Does anybody have direct knowledge of whether a HS2LCDWF9 v1.51 would be able to enroll and function correctly with this panel?

Also, I figure the v1.10 keypads are a lost cause - but if anyone knows better that I could somehow enroll or update them, I'd love to salvage them! If it matters, the control is v1.3.1 and I do have DLS 5 v1.741 setup and working over the LAN. I have already enrolled another powerg wireless sensor, so I do know that my receiver and repeater are working correctly...

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
