Cyberpunk Purple Rain by me

Cyberprince and the Revolution

A fun idea I read someone come up with in one of my comments sections. This took forever to paint but it was so fun. I don't know what the stuff is at the bottom but I thought it looked cool and funky haha.

Painting Prince's face at that size was incredibly difficult

Akira inspired motorcycle obviously

Asclepias viridiflora germination guide

Not difficult to grow from seed, just the same as any other milkweed. Slightly bury about 1cm down, 60 days of cold stratification. Use regular potting soil for the seedlings until putting them into sandy soil when they're old enough to be transplanted.

The most important thing I noticed is they etiolate easily even under a grow light for 12 hours. The seedlings REALLY want full direct sun that lasts the whole day. I grow cacti that are happy under the growlight over the cold months until they go out when its hot enough. These will stretch indoors quickly, so I don't recommend bringing in your cold stratified seeds early to give them a head start for the season.

The trickiest part is seeds are not very available despite that the plant is widespread outside of Ontario. So, experimenting and getting a feel for the species is tough. It is a slow grower that takes about 4 years to bloom. They also grow in very nutrient poor soil. Make sure they don't get crowded out they should be in a garden with other small plants.

I improved Sagittaria by keeping those pesky bees from being able to access the flower.

I just love hideous double blooms, doesn't make me want to vom at all.

Visited downtown Toronto recently and I noticed a lot of ToH...

Growing out the edges of old buildings, just about everywhere, I was wondering what or if anything was being done to stop the very inevitable damage these trees are going to cause to buildings and infrastructure.

I had to laugh at the pure concentrated stupidity, though I feel bad for the people this is going to affect.

Knotweed is also a big problem there too.

Info dump on germinating Micranthes virginiensis "Early Saxifrage"

Two and a half weeks give or take for seeds to germinate no pretreatment, surface sown, lightly covered in saran with holes in it. Don't want mold to kill the seedlings but retain the level of moisture necessary for germination. Same type of substrate I use for germinating cacti about 50/50 inorganic. 12 hours under the grow light. They're slowly trickling in, tiny cotyledons, 1st one was about 5 days ago, now there are more showing up.

I mashed the small dried up fruits together between my fingers and sprinkled onto the top of the soil. Out come the seeds along with their casing. Extremely difficult to count or be sure of the number, so I sowed "a lot" though it's quite difficult to be sure of how many you sow.

I would say next to Blossfeldia, the smallest seeds I've ever handled, it is not pleasant harvesting them because they'll just disappear, or you can't be certain you got any at all. Use wax or cooking parchment paper underneath your work to catch the seeds and then pour it into a wax or parchment envelope they'll just catch on the fibers of a paper towel and you wont get them out.

Verdict: "easy" though the plant isn't widely cultivated so getting your hands on the plant or seeds is annoying business.

I personally love that one of Ontario's most important migration path for birds and plants is covered in wineries, soy, and wheat farms.

That are barely profitable. https://ontariograinfarmer.ca/2017/10/12/pelee-island-farming/

And nature is relegated to these tiny green spaces.

Pelee Island is a biodiversity hotspot with a multitude of species ONLY occurring in the province on this Island. It is a major path in which birds and plants have migrated since the end of the last glacial maximum.

But I need my wine.

Asteraceae, a notably small family with low difference in morphology

I chopped my Antennaria! Oop! Nothing's left. Why did I do it? Idk everyone's doing it.

uj/ Don't be afraid of height, grow the most obnoxiously tall herbs you can and then flip off the lawn people. I'm growing Ripariosida and it gets up 16ft tall.

Trenchpunk Bomi warrior art by Me

Tatreez, cedar of Lebanon, olives and dates. Fire is based on Islamic art.

She leans on a column from the ruins of her ancestors, while they had to leave their heartlands they now live near the cedars in the mountains. But they are always connected to the olive and date orchards of their ancestors and display it in design motifs.

The sword is based on the Algerian Nimcha. The essence of her ancestors empowers the blade.

How to ID Poisson ivy: The process of elimination

  1. Eliminate the possibility of encountering them: never go outside.

  2. Elimination by rubbing. You could read about how to ID plants but reading is for nerds, and plant ID is a nightmare with weird words like "Abaxial" and "Rhizomatous". Go into your local woodland, every leaf you see, break it open and rub it vigorously on a sensitive area. Rash? Poison Ivy, No Rash? Keep going. Leaves of Threes? give it a good rub. It could also be a contact allergy, but then just refer to the former point, fear. Don't ever go outside or trust a person in a tilly hat and filthy jeans who wants to talk to you about native plants. Botanist? more like Robot...anist.

  3. Eliminate every plant you see and cover it in a pavement. Everything should look like the refilling area of a Bucc-ees. Nice and empty and paved.

This also works for any and all plants like Giant Hogweed, Poison oak, Gympie-Gympie, and Opuntia.

Someone stop me from being rude to peoples grandmas

OP was asking what the plant was.

There are two types of people in plant ID request threads.

(This is actually a really cool and pretty rare Polygonatum)
