Was it ever possible to change your email address username?

This is going back to 2009/2010.

One of my school friends helped me set up my hotmail email address back in 2009, even suggesting the password I should use. I remember being able to log in just fine for at least 6 months but then I started getting invalid email address/password when attempting to log in. I tried for quite a few years to recover the email, to no avail.

A couple of years ago I scrolled all the way to the bottom of my mum’s sent emails and found one clearly directed at me, I wanted to determine whether I had misremembered the email address rather than forgotten the password. When looking at the recipient, the address username was my school friend’s.

When I’ve googled this before, it normally states that it could have gotten the address confused with another contact; however, I can say with absolute conviction that my mum would not have ever had my friend as a contact.

I’m still confused as to how this could have happened, did she change the username of the email address and then the password so I could never get back in?

Haunted Apartment?

I moved into my apartment back in February, it is located inside a renovated church building. There isn’t much public information about the building other than that it was constructed in 1887 and converted into apartments around 1970, I don’t know whether it ever had a graveyard. On a couple of occasions, I have found the book I was reading face-up on the floor in the exact same place. The other day I went to put on my robe and it had been tied at the back, which I know I wouldn’t do, I just hang it up on the back of the door normally and leave it untied for the next time I use it. It is just me and my cat living there so I’m not sure whether I have some sort of entity residing with me, I’ll also add that my dressing table mirror is in the corner of the room and faces me while I sleep, could this be of any relevance?
