Random ask: anyone driving to DC and would bring a box down for my daughter?

If you happen to be driving down to DC I have a pretty big box (irrational to ship) that my daughter would be thrilled to get before I can get down there.

Btw, if you think this is weird, it’s absolutely the kind of thing I would do for a rando, so I feel ok asking…;-)

Thanks!

Is there a best way to create a new Flying Blue account?

This; I want to make a new FB account for purposes of transferring/redeeming Amex MRP as well as future use with KLM/AF.

I cannot determine if there are links or affiliates or cards or anything I am missing that will provide initial or "starter" miles for opening the account.

Any suggestions, much appreciated.

Mom is 85 and ill; stable, with 200K Amex MRP; how to best preserve access for her use if she improves but protect from losing them for family use if she does not?

I am official Amex "Account Manager". I have access to transfer the points to Flying Blue (and other programs) and I believe I can use them if she can't, with Flying Blue shared points access -- by transferring her MRP and mine to same (or shared) FB account.

  1. How do I best set this up on Flying Blue to allow shared family usage (with my MRP)?

  2. Are there other programs to consider as transfer targets?

  3. I understand NOT doing speculative transfers but I also believe that her MRP are gone for family usage, if not transferred beforehand, if she should die.

She would HATE the family losing her MRP so I feel secure in doing the most effective/right thing to preserve family ability to use the points.

Many thanks for any and all advice.

I have a thread with two old friends that largely exists for sharing results of word games.

The two friends are quite “intense“ about the word games and I find them fun, but do not give anywhere near the percentage of a fuck that these people do: I play two different games; they play six and they share the results of every one.

I understand I could have a conversation with them or simply bail from the thread but, simply put, they’re really dear old friends, and I don’t want to do that.

So, I mute the thread by sliding it to the left and touching the bell so that the bell icon is struck through.

The thread does not mute. I get notifications for every game result. This is the latest iOS, up to date as of this posting and I keep it up to date.

Are you successful when you mute posts, as in no notifications, the thread is silenced but other non-muted threads do get through?

Thanks!
