Black Kasturi Mango- one of the most unusual looking mango varieties I've come across
Location: West Bengal
Sharing a few photographs of Black Kasturi Mango from a nursery located in West Bengal.
What caught my attention was the colour of the fruit. The skin develops this unusually deep purple/black appearance, and the newer foliage also has a noticeably reddish-purple tone.
I've mostly grown up around the more familiar Indian mango varieties, so this one was particularly interesting to see in person.
Has anyone here actually grown Black Kasturi?
I'd be interested in hearing about:
growth rate
fruiting time
taste and flesh quality
performance in the Indian climate
whether it does well in containers
Photo is from the actual nursery/growing plant, not a stock image.
