Periods post op?

Hi,

I just wasn't to preface by saying I'm not asking for medical advice, just other people's experiences.

I am due to have my surgery 9th November, I have been doing lots of research to prepare. One thing that pops up is how no matter what birth control you are on you WILL have a period after surgery. I am currently taking birth control simply to stop my periods, I'm not in a relationship or sexually active right now. My consultant said to change to a birth control that isn't taken orally because the op can cause it to absorb improperly and therefore not work.

So before I go having something fitted (I'm thinking the implant) is it worth it? Because if I will be getting my period no matter what I don't see the point in wasting time and resources having something I don't even need and isn't going to do the job I want it too.

Anyone who has had their op already that has a period can you please let me know what happened with you?

Of course if I end up in a relationship I will get back on birth control but that's not something I want anytime soon.

Thank you anyone who takes the time to reply.

I feel invalidated because I haven't been with someone the same gender as myself.

Ok, so I'm not really sure how to put this so I will just explain the best I can.

A little back story, I 36F have been single for a long time I got married to a man when I was 20 divorced by 27. My ex-husband is the one that allowed me to admit and accept I am bi, I have never told my family but my children somehow know (or suspect?).

I've basically been single since we divorced out of choice, the fact I'm a single mother with no time to myself and partly fear because I suck at small talk and meeting new people.

I say all this to say, I have not had an actual relationship with a woman, but I am very much attracted to women, in fact women are the only ones who can make me feel something on site (butterflies, tingling, you get the picture.... I hope) , men have to work for it, put in the effort and form a relationship of sorts first before I feel attracted if that makes sense? I don't know why, never thought about it until now.

But I ended up having a conversation the other day with my dad, and they mention something along the lines of "when someone is 90% attracted to men and 10% women..." I stopped them and said that's not how it works, but they went on to try and explain if you're in a relationship with men most/ all the time and only been with a woman once or twice (or w.e ) then you are/can be straight. I disagreed and said it's about who you're attracted too not who you have had a relationship with, but it's been bothering me for days and I think it may be because I now feel like my sexuality, that I was never really allowed to be open about anyway (not with my dad, I'm sure if I told them it wouldn't change a thing as they are LGBT+) is now being sort of invalidated. Do I go back to this conversation and give them a better explanation of what being bisexual is? Do I come out to them?

I've never actually come out to anyone besides my ex husband who really sort of told me I was bi which then made me realise I am. I think I was waiting to get into a relationship with a woman before I "come out" as I didn't really think it was relevant until then but as this conversation is bugging me so much, I am thinking that maybe it is more relevant than I wanted to believe.

I don't know, I'm so sorry for the long rambling post I just wanted some input, and maybe a better understanding of things if anyone can even make sense of my essay, I know it may not actually be that long but I'm a phone so it seems really long to me.

Thanks

Help! My daughter is in so much pain and struggling to bend

16 female, 5'1, 68kg (approx) , hayfever tablet and mini contraceptive pill for period control (she gets bad periods pains and sometimes heavy periods)

My daughter started to have pains in her back, around her hips and sometimes into her thighs about 3 months ago and it's getting worse.

She went to see a Dr and had bloods done and they came back normal besides her vitamin D, she was severely deficient, so they have given her a one a week strong dose vitamin D tablet to take for 7 weeks.

The Dr was hopeful that the issue was being caused by the deficiency, but she has been taking the tablets for 4 weeks and she says it's only getting worse.

She is struggling to bend down, to sit down and then get back up again or adjust herself when she is sitting, she is struggling to tie her shoes and get herself dressed. The Dr has asked that we wait until at least 6 weeks to see if the tablets do anything but I'm not sure how much longer I can watch her suffer.

They did say if at the end of the course of tablets there is no improvement she would have to be referred for scans but I don't know if I should be pushing for them to send her now or if I am just being a worried parent.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I have also uploaded a picture that she has marked where the pain is. As I mentioned above when it's at its worst she said it goes into her thighs.

I also want to say, I know this is vague and made worse because there is no imaging but I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea what it could be, as our Dr was a bit stumped to say the least, but I also got the feeling there was a very slim possibility it could be something very bad and he just didn't want to give any indication of what that is.
