Please share recommendations for books with a badass FMC in the military — preferably in elite ops, like Joe McNamara or Cruz Manuelos from the TV program Lioness.

I’d love to see her at the top of her game, as the highest ranking person in any room; or as a strong-willed, determined woman kicking ass and climbing the ranks in the boys’ club.

Recommendations in any genre, spice level, and relationship combination are appreciated!

Isla Davon released an update re: books 4 and 5 of The Blackened Blade series today:

“I have a new update regarding book four and book five in the series. I have gone back and forth the past while feeling like something was off with what I’ve been writing in book four. I have written it twice and scrapped it, and then gotten writers block for a while before I finally sat down and properly discussed with others what could be wrong. And after many thoughtful conversations, I have realised that I wanted to put more plot into book four (that it needed it) and because of this, I have come to the conclusion that a ‘book five’ is no longer needed. The intended main plot points for book five will now be merged into book four and will make book four a bigger and better book. If I created a book five at this point, it would be much shorter and would probably have more ‘filler’ than plot in it. (I also do not want you all to wait another year for the final book.) So, with that being said, I have decided to fix and expand book four and complete the series this year, with book four being the final instalment to Micai’s story. Due to this, I won’t be moving the placeholder date forward and will be aiming for that original December date for the final book. Thank you all so much your patience and support toward Micai’s journey and ‘The Blackened Blade series’. I hope you all have a wonderful week. \~ISLADAVON”
