Any guesses on the dresses/skirts of the new collection?

Will it be plaid skirts and long/wool dresses like previous years? So far I only see denim short dresses and skirts and I’m not impressed.

My nmom uses my FIL to get to me

Long story short, I live in another country so it’s very difficult for my nmom to come and visit. I don’t do no contact but I almost never write to her, and if she writes to me which is like once every 3-6 months I reply with a very short answer. I see her every 2 years just for 3-4 days, when i finally have to courage to see her and pay for her traveling expenses. I have been married for over a decade, and have 4 children. My in laws have always been super nice to me, they almost treat me like a daughter. My MIL knows that my mom is a narc, my FIL not so much. He had a wondeful mom and i think he has a hard time understanding how a mother can be crazy/mean/manipulative.

Anyways so my in laws have met my mom twice, and she has added them on social media. My husband and I do not have her on social media. I just found out not that long ago that she sometimes writes to my FIL (‘not sure why my FIL and not my
MIL). She asks for updates on me even if I have replied to her messages she tells my FIL that I never reply to her (lies!!). She also writes things about herself like for instance she just published a book so that he can purchase the book and praise her, but has NEVER asked him how he is doing. Anyways so my FIL sometimes tells me that he has heard from my mom and that she seems concerned because I haven’t replied to her messages. I am 34 yo and I am angry and embarrassed when she uses my FIL to get to me and I feel like a child all over again.

He also recently sent a picture of me after lur fourth was born (again after my MIL said she had no idea if I was ok and if I had given birth even though I updated her on the birth), and then wrote to me saying that in the pictures I look awful and depressed and that she was convinced that I was drowning with 4 kids and that my career will soon be ruined.

How do I deal with this? My FIL means well and I can’t force other people to ignore or go NC with my mom.

Postpartum book rec

I’m freshly postpartum (1week) and right before giving birth I finished The Grapes of Wrath. I usually have to wait at least 3-4 months before picking a book again because of brain fog and being tired of course. Any tips for 1) reading postpartum 2) book recommendations that are not too “heavy” for my brain to digest atm.
