Your vision isn’t deceiving you, that’s around a whole 20k DPS increase by just giving the enemy an Electro Aura.

If you didn’t already know, back in Sumeru when Dendro reactions were at the top of the meta, Fischl was so powerful that she could carry someone as weak as Keqing through the Abyss.

Her A4 passive has good scaling and no ICD meaning that it will always trigger Aggravate if the enemy is affected by Quicken.

The downside to her A4 is that Spread cannot trigger it because it doesn’t count as an Electro reaction (Alhaitham can trigger Fischl’s A4 with Quicken but the problem is that he can’t normally trigger Quicken consecutively because it would require a consistent Electro Aura which Fischl cant sustain by herself with Alhaitham, Nahida and Quicken’s Dendro applications interfering).

Which is really weird to me. I get that Dendro is reacting with the Quicken Aura to trigger Spread and not an Electro Aura but Quicken is activated from an Electro reaction so why can’t Hoyoverse just do Alhaitham mains (and Tighnari mains too I guess) a favour and recognise Spread as an Electro reaction?

Well, the answer is pretty obvious… Hoyoverse didn’t want Alhaitham to rival Neuvillette and Arlecchino at their prime (Fontaine). So instead of giving him the Fischl synergy he deserves, they instead put him with Kuki and Hydro appliers who actively decrease his personal damage everytime that they trigger Bloom.

Its actually kind of funny how Hoyoverse used to be so conscious of balancing, because yes, allowing Spread to proc Fischl’s A4 would’ve definitely put a bigger gap between Alhaitham and all the other DPS at the time of Sumeru… but now the gap between the newest DPSs and everyone else is bigger than the distance between Inazuma and Nod-Krai.

Unfortunately, the likelihood of Hoyoverse creating an Electro+Quicken version of Escoffier with continuous Electro application that would let Alhaitham have synergy with Fischl is unlikely, especially with Rimegrass (Dendro and Cryo) right around the corner.
