What kind of plant is this and do I need to separate it/repot it? I’ve had it for about 2 months now and I’ve noticed that there are little baby nubs growing from the bottom. The plant looks like it’s bee getting more crowded, but I’m not sure if this is one that like that or not

This is my first time owning a succulent and I noticed these little roots growing out of the areas where the succulents’ leaves fell off. Does this mean I should propagate them? How would I go about that with this plant? What is the best method/pot/soil? Any help is appreciated!!!
