On the verge of opening my toddlers vet set 6 weeks prior to her birthday just so we can stop playing doctor for hours every day with her TOOL BOX

If I have to check her blood pressure with a drill one more time I'm gonna lose it 🤣

4 weeks pregnant and this is so much harder this time

Obviously I'm here so I'm a sahm. I knew pregnancy made me wildly anxious. And I knew it came with exhaustion. But holy moly this pregnancy is already kicking my butt and my toddler doesn't stop talking or touching me and doesn't sleep and my gosh I'm tired.

I was spoiled last time. I got laid off at 4 weeks pregnant. I napped all pregnancy and could clean and binge TV and read. I had the brain space to deal with all the feelings and anxieties.

Plus I have 8 weeks left before the anxiety even sorta wanes. Food already smells terrible. Toddlers are gross and I didn't even realize how demanding. Very quickly making a list of "independence" things we need to work on. I want to tell her about the baby so bad but am obviously waiting. Also I'm starving and every snack I make she wants some of. I cannot pee 87 times a day in peace.

Anyway, thanks for listening. I hate the pregnancy secret so strangers on reddit seem like a good outlet 😅

Torn between relieved I'm not pregnant and panicking about the age gap

We have recently started TTC our second and my daughter is almost 3. I'm a sahm and I love this little person of mine and I somehow want more time that's just us? But I also want her to have the chance at a playmate, even if I know it doesn't always work out that way. My sister and I are 4.5 years apart and never really clicked. And highschool/middle school was a whole thing because we were were never in the same life stage. I was married and graduated college before she was out of highschool. I was pregnant at her wedding. I really wanted my kids to be closer in age so they could enjoy the same things at the same time and maybe have another person to rely on in the dicey teen years. But my husband only just now got onboard so here we are.

On the other hand, I like not being pregnant. I panic a little thinking about how much of this sweet life will be changed by another person. Even though I love being a mom and I do want another child to love. I'm terrified that it will change my daughters life for the worst. And that it will make me miss all the important parts of her life I get to experience now.

Not sure why I'm writing. Each month the negative pregnancy test just gives me such mixed feelings. I didn't really have to go through all the mixed feelings with my first (the am I even *ready* to be a parent feelings) because she was a first try baby so that was that 😂

Do any sahp have someone come clean their house semi-regularly

I really want more hobby time in the few hours my child actually sleeps instead of cleaning (I can't function when it's not clean). But it also feels a bit ridiculous when I'm home all day and manage to keep it surface clean. Anyone have someone come do deep cleaning just once or twice a month? Worth it? What do you have them do?

Are we choosing the theme for 3rd birthdays?

I'm trying to start planning for my kid's 3rd birthday. She has a few varying interests and I'm sure she'd be happy with any of them. But when I ask her to narrow it to one of 3 options she usually spouts some other completely random theme so I'm not sure she gets it? I just really don't want to start planning in one theme and then she be disappointed it's not cars or dinos or tea party or whatever other random thing she has in mind 😂

Freaking about a hard, non-mobile lump in my armpit

I'm 30, generally healthy and eat well and exercise regularly. About a month ago my toddler brought home the plague and I coughed for several weeks. This brought on a pretty bad pain in my ribs running from below my right breast and up to my armpit. At the time I noticed a small lump and went to the doctor because I hadn't quit coughing, it hurt like hell, and the lump. She said chest sounds were fine and the lump was possibly a strained muscle. Well it's been a month, still a little pain in my ribs when sneezing, but the lump is there, hard, not mobile, and round. I went to the Doctor Monday and she said she'd put in for an ultrasound on it because that was suspicious. Said the ultrasound people would call me. But they haven't so today I called them. And they have no record of me. So I call my doctors office and the secretary said she'd pass along my message that the the ultrasound hadn't been ordered so I could schedule. I need this done because I can think of nothing else. I have a toddler. We're trying to concieve #2. I would really like for this to be benign but the internet has scared the crap out of me and this doctor apparently doesn't care. Pleeeeease tell me stories about what else this could be that isn't something trying to kill me.

Anyone else get yelled at for "playing wrong" today?

Basically the title but I haaaate imaginative play because every 2 minutes is a tantrum because I didn't follow the storyline exactly. Or I moved the doll wrong. Or I talked when she wanted to talk. Or I did exactly as I was told and was still wrong 😅😂

Major potty regression making me suck as a mom

My toddler has been peeing her pants increasingly for the last 6 weeks. She's been potty trained since last June. Now she won't initiate and she fights sitting on the toilet at all. I've tried timers, bribes, songs, Daniel Tiger, peeing with her, running water, promoting at transitions, not prompting at all. She is not phased AT ALL. I hear "I don't want to" 50 times a day. We are in our "why" phase and every time I say "pee goes in the potty, not in our pants" and she comes back with "why?" I want to snap. I've stayed calm. We've talked about it. I praise like crazy when she goes. Even when she does go she doesn't sit long enough to fully empty.

She is peeing a little in her pants like once a hour. My whole life is dictated by changing her pants and trying to talk her into using the potty. I can't enjoy anything because she is always soaked in pee. I feel like we are in constant battle even though I'm trying to not make it a control issue.

It's not a UTI. No moves. No changes. No new siblings. Not constipation. She was perfect at it for months until she just decided she doesn't want to and I feel angry all the time. Help.

My 2.5 yo has always been low sleep needs. And won't fall asleep unless you're right next to her. I was attempting naps by laying in the dark with her for an hour but being kicked in the head and summersaulted over for an hour just made me cranky, overstimulated, and resentful that a nap wasn't happening. She has taken maybe 20 naps since 18 months so I just stopped. Gave her toys, set a timer, told her she didn't have to nap but I had some things to do. We're been at this a week. I can run (treadmill), clean, do chores, small bits of hobby. My evenings are finally a little more free. I have more patience. I thought giving up the nap and wanting a break from my kid midday made me a crap mom but I have so much more to give her when I can can focus on me for 45 minutes.

For the fellow low sleep needs people reading this - bedtime is 9:30, it will not move earlier no matter what we try. She generally wakes up at 7 but will sleep til 8:30 if I lay with her which I usually do because 7 doesn't change the nap or bedtime. She's a little night owl and likes a morning snuggle 🤷🏼‍♀️
