Some 365 shots with vintage lenses and the Zf

I do a 365 project every other year (one shot a day for a year) and it really drives my use of my vintage gear collection, which I love to use any way it's just a way to self motivate. I don't always use the Zf, but for the most part I do. The vintage gear just doesn't have the same feel on the Z7ll, it just isn't near as fun.

First three images are with a Nikkor 24mm 2.8 H-Auto (Pre-Ai) Next three are with a Nikkor 105mm 2.5 Pre-ai, number 7-9 are with the Minolta Rokkor 58mm 1.2 (the Hawkeye) which has reigned supreme as my favorite vintage lens so far, and the last one is with the Nikkor 135mm 2.8 Q Pre-ai. They are all good looking lenses but that Rokkor is just an exceptionally beautiful piece of glass! I'll throw a shot of it at the end.

Skate, Scoot, & Bike Competition Zf & Viltrox 85mm 1.8z

Stumbled upon a little competition and had the Zf & Viltrox 85 1.8z with me, ended up being the perfect focal length for this little skate park.

Zf & 35mm Lab 1.2z

From a wedding over the weekend, the 35 Lab is just REALLY good, not much more to say about it but if you are on the fence about it don't wait.

Some month of June 365 Project, Nikon Zf with 4 different vintage lenses.

As stated, some shots from my 365 project from the month of June. First two shots are with a Nikon 50mm f/2 ai (first shot is a 4 shot pano) number 3 and 4 are with a Nikon 24mm 2.8 pre-ai. The books are with a Nikon 50 1.4 Ais and then the last two are with a Minolta Rokkor 58mm 1.2 I think the cave (image #1) is the only one not shot wide open and all on a Nikon Zf.

My boys at the Great Salt Lake

First shot is with a Nikon D850 // Nikon 35 1.4G

The rest are with an F100 and the same lens, don't recall the film though I think it some expired 1hr photo film. I'm sure some rebranded Kodak something or other.

We were just passing by and had some time to kill, but we ended up being completely enthralled with it and spent a lot more time exploring then we had anticipated.

Zf + Nikkor 105 2.5 pre-ai

Scored some new bags for my bike, which is exciting because I can fit my vintage camera bag in one of the bags, so now I can bring more vintage crap with when I ride!

I love the soft beautiful flares this lens makes, on some of the other old lenses I have the flare is a big obnoxious (but still fun.)

Bag Update: Biltwell Exfil-18

I made a post last month looking for bag suggestions, these Biltwell's were suggested and they seemed like exactly what I was looking for. I got them on today and they are excellent, they didn't seem much bigger but man they fit A LOT more, and the quick disconnects are going to be awesome.

You can get a little lock so they can't just be picked off quick, on my to do list but wanted to share some before and after pics.

Bag suggestions?

I've outgrown the little factory Yamaha bags, I know there's a ton out there but anyone have any suggestions? I think they make a form fitted softer bag that's a little easier to mount, I think something like that would be be right up my alley but I read mixed reviews. What have ya got and why do you love it/hate it?

Pics for attention. 2016 Bolt 13k problem free fun miles.

Nikkor 24mm 2.8 N-Auto + Zf

Zf + the Nikkor 24mm 2.8 N-Auto in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I really love this little lens. Even better it was gifted to me from some almost strangers. Most of the shots I took as I was walking at f/4 focusing on the fly, it's very easy to focus I suppose on account of how wide it is. Family shot on a tripod and then the last shot is the actual lens on one of my old OG F's.

Eleanor (Mustang) 35 Lab Z & F14 Air

I had the opportunity to shoot a Gone in 60 Seconds Eleanor earlier this year, I used some other gear but I leaned heavily into the 35 Lab 1.2z and for a couple of shots (Undercarriage and Interior light paint) I used the F14 F/4 Air! All of them except the 2 are with the 35mm.

Coolest shot of the Maverick yet!

24 XLT Lux factory flares 38k miles no issues.

Photobombed by Eleanor.

Not really photobombed, shooting it with purpose but a fun internet story. In hind sight I should have lined them both up for a shot for fun.

For context we were out doing some video of it for it's website, long straight away on a desolate road probably cruising along about 40mph, first time sitting in the back seat of my own Maverick, surprisingly decent amount of room back there!

Extra shot of the Mustang and the Maverick. I really wasn't to sure about the factory flares at first but now I look at shots of it with out them and I can't imagine taking them off.

Had it now for about 2 months and I think for me, this is the king of the vintage glass. I end up reaching for it over everything else, even my new glass. I adore this lens I am REALLY looking forward to putting this to work with nice weather finally. I just rescued a 135 Rokkor 2.8 from a pawn shop about a week ago, pretty excellent little piece of glass too. It doesn't have the wild rendering of the 58 but is sharp and easy to use and it'll be nice to have if the only adapter I have with my is the MD to Z.
